and the decision to count postal ballots last frankly risks war if there is a narrow Biden win. Very dangerous and nasty - all legal, normal and above board, fully expected process but we know what the oily orange turd will call it.

Only 4 states require postal votes to begin counting on Election Day. Those states are Mississippi, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Alabama.

Oh which bit have I got wrong? I can see how it looks misleading just checking the figures as they stand so i was trying to explain that the figures now don't reflect what's to come. If we were still waiting for California and other democratic states to be called it would be different headline figures.

I got a bit confused when they talked about the reds and the blues because in UK it is the other way around. Tories are blue and Labour is red. I also could not undestand much of the language they used on the news this morning on BBC - not helped by having sound down (too early) and relying on 'asshat' subtitles!!

Trump is now tweeting about trying to steal the election, votes cannot be castafter polls close. He's moved beyond the idea of votes arriving via mail after polling day.

But mail in votes *can" legally count in some states if they arrive later?

In the US it is absolutely true that hospitals get more money for Covid related deaths. The number of Covid deaths are now questionable.

It just occurred to me that no presidential candidate with a female VP 'pick' on the ballot paper has ever won. Depressing.

In my state they have until November 12th to be counted. But they jad to be post marked before election day

Not looking good. Florida pretty much always goes for whoever gets the presidency. And from the BBC figures, I think most of the state's still to be counted - Michigan, Wisconsin - will go Trump's way.

And I cannot believe how depressed I feel about the sheer number -millions! MILLIONS - of people in the US and globally, who stand behind a racist sexist aggressive and egotistic horror of a man. Weimar Germany springs very uncomfortably to mind.
