Pennsylvania will be the decider and also the basis of a court case I imagine if Trump doesn't win.

iftherewereahorseyinthehouse · 04/11/2020 06:15

The president of the USA can't spell polls. Couldn't make it up.

The democrats have fucked it. I wonder if the postal votes will swing it but I'm not confident that they will. Today is going to be interesting.

As far as I can see the discrepancy in the figures is because different news agencies 'call' the wins at different times. The guardian uses the AP which seem to be a bit more cautious about calling too early.

Inkpaperstars · 04/11/2020 06:17

Yes, Chuck Todd just confirmed Biden can reach 270 without Pennsylvania. It depends on a lot of other things right down to congressional districts in states that split their electors going his way though, and whether they all would if Pennsylvania didn't seems a bit tenuous to say the least.

I agree a Trump victory looks more likely but there is no way to say at this point that Trump has one, that is not yet known.

Inkpaperstars · 04/11/2020 06:17

Has won even.

ZombieFan · 04/11/2020 06:17

@Inkpaperstars

Zombie are you basing that on general trend or feeling that he has taken Michigan and Wisconsin?
Based on TV projections.
Leaannb · 04/11/2020 06:19

@Inkpaperstars

If Biden has won Arizona as it seems he has, could he still win without Pennsylvania? They confirmed on one of the news channels that he could if he won Michigan and Wisconsin, but maybe that depended on a wider scenario that no longer exists?
If he won them je could win. Bit so far Trump is ahead in Michigan,Wisconsin and even Pennsylvania
Detroitdarkcafe · 04/11/2020 06:19

Well fuck.

GADDay · 04/11/2020 06:20

Watching with baited breath.

Unbelievably to me anyway it looks like the don is going to win.

The mind boggles that this clown is going to be around for another FOUR years Sad

Inkpaperstars · 04/11/2020 06:21

Thanks Zombie. It's hard to think the states that need to come through for a Biden win will all do so given what we have seen so far. If they do it will be down to the wire and a protracted struggle I guess. But a very close result was always a strong possibility.

Gotheeunicorns · 04/11/2020 06:21

Leaannb but wasn't that expected at this point, before mail in votes were counted?

Inkpaperstars · 04/11/2020 06:22

Yes, it looks bad Leanne

TeddyIsaHe · 04/11/2020 06:22

They haven’t counted all mail-in and early votes yet which do sway towards Biden. So there is a tiny possibility, but it’s likely Trump is going to declare himself the winner at some point today.

Only 2 states can split their electoral votes. Maine and Nebraska and their votes have already been decided. If Trump.finisjes cleaning the board taking NC, Georgia,Wisconsin, Michigan and Nevada then he doesn't need Pennsylvania. NC local news is reporting that Donald Trump has won that state by less than a 100,000 votes. So ot jasn't been certified yet. Trump is favored to win all the remaining States including Pennsylvania
Inkpaperstars · 04/11/2020 06:25

His declaration doesn't count for anything in itself I know, but will only add to the febrile atmosphere while the actual result is unknown. Not having a quick, decisive result is not what the US needed right now. Going to be a difficult few days and I hope those of you living there are bearing up ok x

Ghosts2020 · 04/11/2020 06:27

I'm going to dwlcalare certain people on here as stupid. Biden is still just leading, doing better in urban areas ect. As above said the mail votes haven't been counted stop making false comments

Inkpaperstars · 04/11/2020 06:30

Trying to steal the election...my god, he is outrageous. Despicable inadequate man.

We don't know if they sway to Biden. They haven't been counted yet. He is ahead by 9npercentage points or more in every remaining State except NC. In NC according to local news station Trump jas won with less than 100,000 votes.
TeddyIsaHe · 04/11/2020 06:31

Arizona is looking positive - 77% votes counted, Biden up by 160,000 votes. Obviously not a great margin, but this does open up a second pathway for Biden.

Ghosts2020 · 04/11/2020 06:31

Declare *

YoBeaches · 04/11/2020 06:32

Projections aren't false comments, just projections. And many news agencies are projecting a trump win based on percentage of votes counted so far.

TeddyIsaHe · 04/11/2020 06:32

@Leaannb very good point! I’m basing my (misguided, probably!) hope that Biden’s campaign centred on early voting and mail-in, where as Trump pushed voting in person.

If you just go by what ABC News has called (we're on the conservative side tonight)... Biden's win probability would go from 69% to 85% based on NE-2 being called! That one electoral vote makes a huge amount of difference."

Ihaveyourback · 04/11/2020 06:34

Penns is going to Trump, votes nearly counted.

This has been a lesson well learnt, no matter the media bias globally against Donald Trump it looks like he is going to win against all of the odds. Jesus Christ. It is nailbiting.

Ihaveyourback · 04/11/2020 06:34

Sky presenters are sounding much like brexit night which is always telling...

Ihaveyourback · 04/11/2020 06:35

Wisconsin definitely also going in Trump's favour
