@HoldMyLobster - did they identify themselves as Proud Boys? Or similar or wtaf?

Should Biden win will this ever be investigated?
Yes - this was it.

Shock Lobster!

MerchantOfVenom · 03/11/2020 23:10

Polls closing in Indiana and Kentucky.

I am going out for a walk and some fresh air (it’s midday on Weds the 4th where I am).

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/11/2020 23:10

These threads have been magnificent over the last four years. Well done to all the regular contributors.

Let's hope they aren't needed soon.

While DH and I were waiting to vote his niece nearly started a family row by sending a group text of her outside a polling place wearing a mask with Grab him by the Ballot printed on it

Grin good for her!

First polls have closed.

Khadernawazkhan · 03/11/2020 23:17

Sorry to say but there's going to be huge disappointment on here. Trump is going to storm this one. Have many friends and family (minorities) over there, and they are all voting for President Trump. The minority vote for Trump is much, much larger than you think.

Apileofballyhoo · 03/11/2020 23:19

God, those polls are hopeful, aren't they? It'll be hard to take if they're not accurate. I do think Trump really needs to be trounced. For so many, many reasons, but mainly to show utter rejection so there can be no doubt.

@colouringindoors

what is going on with posting on this thread?!
It's every thread. Some kind of weird glitch in the Mumsnet matrix. Angry

@HalfBearOtherHalfCat

I just got back from voting. I've never seen a turn out like it, people lining up all round the building, parking lot overflowing. Normally I'd be in and out in five minutes, but it took a good 45 minutes to get done.

I'm an absolute gibbering idiot right now. I have no idea how I'll cope with another four years if we don't manage to flush the tangerine turd.

Can I ask what kind of state please? Red or blue? Swing or no?

PerkingFaintly · 03/11/2020 23:23

Indeed, Apile.

I am managing my expectations by starting at Eeyore. Grin

I'm not discounting that he might win but I very much doubt if he does, he will win by large margin.

Personally I'm betting on Biden and I actually think he'll win decisively.

Yes, I think he may get more minorities this year.
RedToothBrush · 03/11/2020 23:29

It is surprising that the Democrats seem so upbeat, even with the figures seemingly looing good after last time.

I'm certainly keeping an open mind at this stage after 4 years ago.

TheClaws · 03/11/2020 23:35

Can you feel it? I snorted up some coffee when I saw this.

President Trump: "There's a tremendous love going on in this country." #ElectionDay

TheClaws · 03/11/2020 23:39

I wouldn't place much stock in the exit polls, particularly this year.

colouringindoors · 03/11/2020 23:42

watching on itv to avoid Andrew Neil. Democrats confidence does not reassure me at all. Have they learnt nothing from 2016????

HalfBearOtherHalfCat · 03/11/2020 23:42

I'm in a red state. Only time I saw it close to this busy before was the first time Obama was elected. My district is heavily African American though, which may make a difference.

I won't be shocked if Trump wins, but by a large margin? I really don't think he can have added enough people to his die-hard fan base, and he's alienated quite a lot of normal decent republicans like me, DH and some of my family who have voted for country over party.

BruceAndNosh · 03/11/2020 23:47

I'm amazed that East Coast states can release results while West Coast states are still voting.

I can understand why you think this if you’re in a Trump bubble, following him, Fox News, and all your friends and family are voting Trump.

But I’m interested to know why you think he is going to ‘storm this one’...?

He lost by 3 million votes in 2016.

Then in 2018, the Dems took the house.

It’s not 2020 and since then, there’s been a pandemic which he has profoundly mishandled, millions unemployed, civil unrest and a tanking economy.

His incompetence has been exposed for all to see, and he is loathed by millions.

Why do you think he will ‘storm it’?
