It could be days/weeks before we know for sure unless it's pretty decisive.

There are so many absentee and mail-in ballots to process, even before you factor in the fact that Trump will drag everything he possibly can through the courts if he looks like losing.

BBC Radio 4 has continuous coverage from 10 pm and Radio 5 Live and LBC from midnight.

Just saw someone on CNN state that he reckons Trump may well win. I am so used to the Orwellian double think turn that politics have taken in the past few years that I'm wondering if they're doing this deliberately to stop Biden voters from being complacent and encouraging everyone who might already be thinking it's a done deal for the Blue Wave, to go and vote to be sure to be sure

Sarah Pedersen's new book is The Politicization of Mumsnet but the first article she published focussed on these threads.

Will the early in person voting ballots be counted today, along with the on the day ones? So totals by end of day will exclude just mail in ones if any (assuming they finish counting them)?

What time will we know.

Traditionally around 4am GMT, but 2016 was at 6.30am. This time round, who knows! With so many postal votes and different rules from state to state (some count them before Election Day, others count on the day itself) and the potential for legal challenges it could go on for days, even weeks.

I was wondering about absentee ballots from the military overseas. Found this about the last election here

Don't know how reputable the source is. Interested as I'm in Germany and not far from what is still home to a lot of the US military here. Also not sure how much their votes will matter in terms of changing a close local race.

DD(9) just got home from school, where of course there was lots of election talk.

She said most in her class (Grade 4) are hoping Biden will win, but there was one very vocal Trumpkid who said that Biden is 'crazy' and 'more racist' than Trump .

All comes from the parents, of course, but how anyone can seriously believe that just totally baffles me.
