I have two questions (what, only two? erm...)
One is,
Against whom is Trump putting up his barricades round the White House? I mean, I can see Biden needing them after he has moved in and the feral trumpalumps are roaming about waving their guns, but why does Trump, and when?
The other,
How often are the number of members of the Electoral College in a state adjusted to allow for alterations in the population figures?
I think it's all 'security theatre'. He wants to make it look like he fears that 'the Liberal Terrorists/Antifa/Killer Clowns' are going to attack the WH. It's a way rile up his supporters and get them out and 'patrolling'. Either that or he's just a huge fucking coward. Or both. Take your pick.
The number of electors is the same as the number of Representatives a state sends to Congress. That number is adjusted every ten years based on the results of the US Census. The census numbers determine the number of Representatives for each state. Gain population, gain Representative(s). Lose population, lose Representative(s).
It's why Scrotus and the GOP tried (and failed) to have undocumented people disqualified from the 2020 Census count. They did this by trying to insert a citizenship/legal status question. And why they tried (and semi-succeeded) to get the count stopped early. They want the census results under their control for gerrymandering and apportionment purposes.
