Ok so I'm unashamedly posting in AIBU for traffic.

AIBU that I have a whole Camembert, a bottle of Malbec and a need to watch the scariest fucking film you can recommend on Saturday night?

Hit me with your scary films. Aliens aren't scary. Saw shat me up.

I will be watching this thread for ideas Have you seen the insidious films? They’re pretty scary.

BrumBoo · 27/10/2020 20:30

Final Destination films give me the heebies. Not the most scary but definitely leave me unsettled. Something about living your own death as a vision, then slowly realising that you haven't avoided it, you're now just super aware you're eventually going to die in a violent and painful manner... horrible.

The first Resident Evil film is very good for a zombie/video game movie.

Hickorydickoryspock · 27/10/2020 20:48

The VVitch
The Ritual
Possum
A Dark Song
Martyrs
Antichrist
Pyewacket
High Tension
Hereditary
Midsommar
The Canal
Ghost Stories (the British film I think there another film with the same title but the British film is the good one!)
Climax
Wake Wood

I love horror ❤

QuitMoaning · 27/10/2020 20:50

The Grudge.

I tried watching the first one and lasted about 10/15 minutes before I ended up crying and running up to my bedroom but I am a complete wuss.

I was going to say this... I am fairly hard to rattle (I love a good horror film) but the Insidious series of films is some scary shit!
BabloHoney · 27/10/2020 20:53

It Follows. Proper creepy

lioncitygirl · 27/10/2020 20:53

The ring. Original one - the Japanese one. Very scary.

Hickorydickoryspock · 27/10/2020 20:54

oh yes It Follows is great! It actually gave me nightmares and I watch loads of scary films and dont usually have nightmares... that concept tho just completely shat me up. The way it walks towards you... i get chills even thinking about it

RiseUpWiseUpEyesUp · 27/10/2020 20:55

Whatever you do don’t believe the reviews that say It Follows is the scariest movie of all time, it’s most definitely is not! It’s basically just people walking around 😂

Sinister is my offering

ChasedByFox · 27/10/2020 20:55

Ringu- the original Japanese Ring.
I don't think I moved a muscle for first 40minutes.

CressidaTheHeathen · 27/10/2020 20:55

Eden Lake is absolutely grim.

Hostel, all of them.

RiseUpWiseUpEyesUp · 27/10/2020 20:56

Oh no what a cross post, sorry pps your posts weren’t there when I was writing mine Blush

CovidStoleTheRainbow · 27/10/2020 20:57

Dog Soilders.

Brilliant!

BaggiesBride · 27/10/2020 20:58

Drag me to hell is a good horror movie.

Hickorydickoryspock · 27/10/2020 20:59

haha its okay lol...some people really don't find it scary and for others its the scariest thing ever. It jist depends whether the concept is something you personally find scary or not. I really introverted and have personal space issues lol...so for me its an utter nightmare. Being stalked is my number one fear. Especially how no one else can see it or help you. It really pushed all my buttons.
Its not really jump scares or anything so it does totally depend on whether or not its something which you personally find scary.

CeramicGuineaPig · 27/10/2020 20:59

I agree re The Grudge. DH and I saw it at the cinema and thought "It's a 15, how scary can it be?" Very, it turns out.

runninguphills · 27/10/2020 21:01

I watched this teeny YouTube short film this evening and that was more than enough for me!

SickToDeathOfThis · 27/10/2020 21:09

Depends what scares you? Gratuitous gore? Realistic violence/torture/murder/crime? The supernatural? Monsters? Body horror?

Do you like modern or vintage films? Foreign? Also what streaming services can you access?

Ilovegreentomatoes · 27/10/2020 21:12

Human centapide, tusk, The burning, I'll think of some more in a minute

Inastatus · 27/10/2020 21:15

The Changeling scared the bejesus out if me but it’s quite old now. Or for an edge of your seat jump scare thriller type then Cape Fear.

mrwalkensir · 27/10/2020 21:16

Event Horizon

GilbertMarkham · 27/10/2020 21:16
