Roast beef, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, yorkshire pudding, savoy cabbage, gravy and horseradish. I live on my own and can't make a decent roast for myself.

thesoundofthepolice · 27/10/2020 00:59

Favourite meal is a full on Christmas dinner.

Other than that I love pasta e fagioli soup (pasta and bean) only from a local Italian restaurant that better still be open after covid goes away its garlicky and tomatoey and amazing

WorraLiberty · 27/10/2020 01:02

A full roast dinner of any sort

FoxtrotOscarPoppet · 27/10/2020 01:04

Roast dinner with all the trimmings!

jennie0412 · 27/10/2020 01:07

Roast dinner seems very popular!
I'm not really sure what mine is blinded by hunger, maybe carbonara? I'm not sure! I'm a very indecisive person Blush

TheHighestSardine · 27/10/2020 01:39

I don't have a favourite meal, I like variety.

Right now, I'm planning a mushroom and roast duck stirfry for tomorrow (onion, garlic, spring onion, forest mushrooms, pak choi, cashew nuts, roast duck sliced, on noodles) so that's what I'd want.

Day after will be baked sea bass on lambs lettuce with veg and a butter, chilli and mixed herb dressing.

Day after that will be a random pair of curries from the freezer, from earlier batch cooking. Probably a veg tikka and a chicken jalfrezi, since the others are thai/caribbean and won't go so well together.

Carbonara is also lush. Lots of bacon bits and gran padana. Maybe peas if I'm feeling heretical.

Quaagars · 27/10/2020 01:41

A good curry or chilli Smile
Also salmon with new potatoes and asparagus

DramaAlpaca · 27/10/2020 01:42

Anything cooked by someone else.

Bidl · 27/10/2020 01:43

Lobster with garlic butter, skinny fries and a green salad.

MostDisputesDieAndNoOneShoots · 27/10/2020 01:45

A good bowl of ramen. Chicken or tofu. Lots of coriander.

wannabebump · 27/10/2020 01:47

Spaghetti bolognese everytime. And I'd normally prefer anything made by someone else, but I'm happy to cook this myself! Perfect everytime 😀 and now, I'm starving!!

myusernamewastakenbyme · 27/10/2020 03:11

Anything with king prawns.

Time40 · 27/10/2020 03:31

Proper old-school heavy fruit wedding cake with marzipan and rock-hard icing, washed down with champagne. The only thing that makes weddings bearable, so I'm v. sorry that it's going out of fashion.

Notthegoldenchild · 27/10/2020 03:34

I think given the option of every meal under the sun and told you have to eat that every day for a week then my choice would be spaghetti bolognese. With garlic bread and a side salad and a colossal glass of red wine.

I would really eat anything though to be honest. I think my second fave might be a good old Irish stew. I could eat that for a few days in a row too.

Bettyboop82 · 27/10/2020 03:42

Lamb chops, buttery mashed potato with gravy, mint sauce and a big pile of carrot and turnip, green beans on the side.
Greek salad with salty feta and grapes, loads of balsamic vinegar on top.
Pepperoni pizza is a guilty pleasure too

tobee · 27/10/2020 03:50

When I was a student and got my grant cheque (remember them?) I would feel rich and often pop to the chippy up the road and get a quarter of rotisserie chicken and chip shop chips and sachets of brown sauce. Grin If people ever ask me what I want to eat it's the first thing that comes to mind still!

Chicchicchicchiclana · 27/10/2020 03:55

Barbecued sardines with real French bread and butter.

A really good takeaway curry from the posh Indian restaurant near here, must include their tarka dahl.

Cheese and potato pie.

I also really like duck (sorry ducks) and nearly always choose that if I'm eating out if it's on the menu.

Angelina82 · 27/10/2020 03:57

My mum’s lasagne 😋

caughtalightsneeze · 27/10/2020 04:04

Really nice bread (with loads of butter), with cheese, cured meat, olives etc. Ideally outdoors, on holiday.

Selttan · 27/10/2020 04:09

Corned beef with white sauce, mashed potato, carrots and cabbage.

1forAll74 · 27/10/2020 04:14

I eat a lot of fish, I have had sea bass, trout and salmon in the last few days, plus sardines on toast for breakfast. But favourite would be a roast dinner, maybe if I had someone to share it with.

BefuddledPerson · 27/10/2020 04:16

I don't have one favourite but at the moment I am loving jacket potatoes with veg chilli and roast veg, or leek and potato soup, as I have started to feel cold. Got sprouts in the veg box will do bubble and squeak.

So, currently - potato-based meals Smile
