Just that really.

They’re not the same. No anchovies in Hendo’s!

ImFree2doasiwant · 16/10/2020 17:46

Should have added,if you disagree, what's the difference?

Drogonssmile · 16/10/2020 17:46

Henderson's is veggie I think

Peeeas · 16/10/2020 17:46

Worcestershire sauce is generally not vegetarian (contains fish); Henderson's is a good veggie alternative.

DontTouchTheMoustache · 16/10/2020 17:47

Don't say that in south Yorkshire, you will be lynched

TeaAndHobnob · 16/10/2020 17:48

Hendo's is veggie. But yes, it's essentially the same.

porkandbeans · 16/10/2020 17:48

Henderson's is better and also vegetarian. It's a staple in our house

purrswhileheeats · 16/10/2020 17:51

What's Henderson's? (Sorry, not in UK)

My friend always talks about adding Lea & Perrin's to food when I know she means Worcester sauce, is this what you mean?

ImFree2doasiwant · 16/10/2020 17:52

@DontTouchTheMoustache I'm (originally) from Sheffield. Grin

It tastes the same, regardless of fish

Hobbesmanc · 16/10/2020 17:52

Recent convert to Hendos- its richer than Lea and Perrins- although I really miss the limited edition L and P that's been discontinued- like an XO sauce

Umbridge34 · 16/10/2020 17:54

I think Hendersons is richer. I use them for the same things though.

☝🏼What she said.

I'm also not in the UK. I thought there was only L&P Worcestershire sauce. (Did I spell it correctly?)
LuaDipa · 16/10/2020 17:57

Just seen your update op. Are you absolutely sure about that??Wink

ImFree2doasiwant · 16/10/2020 17:59

It's spelt Worcester upon the bottle I have (I checked!) Lea and persons is a brand of Worcester sauce.

Henderson's looks and tastes the same, but is Henderson's relish.

OP posts:
OrtamLeevz · 16/10/2020 18:00

When I finish my current bottle of Worcester sauce (in about 10 years' time) I'll give the other one a go and report back to the thread. Wink

SciFiScream · 16/10/2020 18:00

I didn't know about this non-fish option. I have become allergic to fish as an adult and miss the sauce. Where can I find it?

ImFree2doasiwant · 16/10/2020 18:00

@LuaDipa born and bred! Grin I've been away for a long time though.

OP posts:
MaskingForIt · 16/10/2020 18:01

Henderson’s is made without anchovies, so appeals to a demographic that Worcs sauce doesn’t.

ImFree2doasiwant · 16/10/2020 18:01

@SciFiScream we always get it when family from Sheffield visit but I'm sure you can buy it elsewhere.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 16/10/2020 18:01

Hendersons is in big supermarkets but you can also get vegan alternatives to Worcestershire sauce which don't have sweeteners in, if that is a factor.

CaptainMyCaptain · 16/10/2020 18:05

@LimaFoxtrotCharlie

They’re not the same. No anchovies in Hendo’s!
This.

Hendo's is vegan if that's your choice. We have to have it because DH is from Sheffield although, really, I prefer Worcestershire.

Wotsitsarecheesy · 16/10/2020 18:36

I am from Sheffield. I think they taste very different! I love Henderson's relish. I don't really like Worcesterhire Sauce very much. I used to have to buy Henderson's when i visited my parents, until I noticed that my local supermarket in the midlands happened to stock it too :)

MereDintofPandiculation · 16/10/2020 18:38

Lea and persons is a brand of Worcester sauce. Lea and Perrins is not a brand of Worcestershire Sauce, it is the original brand. Lea and Perrins created the original recipe.

funnylittlefloozie · 16/10/2020 18:41

Hendersons is available in Morrisons. I prefer the real thing, Lea & Perrins Worcester sauce.
