Just that really.

Lea and Perrins is just a generic name for Worcestershire sauce of which there are many variations

Which quietly ignores the fact that Lea and Perrins invented Worcestershire sauce.

NO. No. NOOOOOOOO. No. Nope, not on your nelly, non, and every other version of NO.

There are not very many versions of Worcestershire sauce! It isn’t like ketchup, Worcestershire sauce refers to very specific rescipe much like Hendo’s actually! Lea and Perrins invented it, like Henderson.

It’s not like Heinz ketchup is the same as Tesco’s.

Sainsbury’s can’t call it Worcestershire because it’s not from lea and perrins (it probably is but)

So from the Worcestershire sauce wiki

“ The precise recipe has been a secret, but an original 19th-century list of ingredients was found in a skip at the factory in 2009 and includes vinegar, molasses, sugar, salt, anchovies, tamarind extract, onions, and garlic as well as some other key ingredients which may include cloves, soy sauce, lemons, pickles, and peppers”

How can lea and Perrins be a generic name for something ONLY THEY KNOW THE ACTUAL RECIPE FOR!!!

Lea and Perrins is the brand name. A generic name is like aspirin, the basic ingredient, rather than the brand name Anadin.
