"Ivanka Trump, Jared Kusher's lawyer threatens to sue Lincoln Project over Times Square billboards."

Thereby ensuring that instead of only a small number of New Yorkers seeing them, the billboards have been broadcast nation-wide (and internationally).

Have this mud-for-brains bunch not heard of the Streisand Effect?

littlebillie · 24/10/2020 12:54

It really makes European politics look very civilised

Roussette · 24/10/2020 13:01

Mitch McConnell is obviously unwell, yet is putting himself forward for another 6 years at 78 years old.
Why the heck is there so many older people in positions of power in the US?
It dumbfounds me to be honest. And I include Biden in that category, much as I like him.
I just find it very strange. I don't wish ill health on anyone, but someone who obviously is not well should not be running for 6 years surely...

Home from Tahoe. I'm now watching the debate. Only on the 1st question. Ramble ramble not answering.

I don't think we 'forget' as such but there has been a lot of stuff going on these past few years. An account:

Just noticed this webinar on the book about the 'politicization of mumsnet'. November 3rd in case anyone is at a loose end that day. Smile

It's on election day? Apt!

he Atlantic has endorsed only three candidates in its 163-year history: Abraham Lincoln, Lyndon B. Johnson, and Hillary Clinton. The latter two endorsements had more to do with the qualities of Barry Goldwater and Donald Trump than with those of Johnson and Clinton. The same holds true in the case of Joe Biden. Biden is a man of experience, maturity, and obvious humanity, but had the Republican Party put forward a credible candidate for president, we would have felt no compulsion to state a preference. Donald Trump, however, is a clear and continuing danger to the United States, and it does not seem likely that our country would be able to emerge whole from four more years of his misrule. Two men are running for president. One is a terrible man; the other is a decent man. Vote for the decent man.

Wowsers! That may not be a ringing endorsement for Biden, but it's a loud and clear condemnation of Scrotus!

Got through the debate. It was 'easier' to watch than the 1st one and Joe was able to put forth some of his plans. But Scrotus bloviating about Hunter Biden 'emails' and his bombast about his 'achievements' still got my goat. Roll on 3 Nov.

BruceAndNosh · 24/10/2020 17:10

I see Trump made a big thing of voting in person this morning in Florida, stating that mail in voting wouldn't be as secure.
First time he hasn't voted by mail for about 11 years

BruceAndNosh · 24/10/2020 17:18

Trump who used to be Pro Choice, (which is not surprising for such a womaniser) decided to oppose abortion once he ran for office, obviously a political vote winning stance rather than a moral one.
But in Pennsacola he showed how little he really cares about the issue personally when he got the basic terminology mixed up.
"By the way, if you're pro-life, they'll wipe that away so fast. They'll wipe out every one of your rights." -- Trump is very confused about a woman's right to choose

Roussette · 24/10/2020 17:25

He's very confused full stop.

Which is why he talked of little windows, no windows and deadly windmills in the debate

This is just lovely. Kamala taking time out from the campaign trail to look at some old photographs of people from her life, and talk about them.

Don Trump Jr and Eric dropping hints they may run for office: report
www.rawstory.com/2020/10/don-trump-jr-and-eric-dropping-hints-they-may-run-for-office-report/

According to a report from Forbes, Don Trump Jr. and his younger brother, Eric are using the waning days of the 2020 election to float trial balloons about their personal future political plans at a time when their father, Donald Trump, is on the verge of seeing his own brief political career coming to an abrupt end.

The report states the two brothers, who ostensibly run the Trump Organization when they are not tweeting and defending their father, have been making subtle overtures on their social media accounts.

Roussette · 24/10/2020 19:19

The brothers yuk. Shock

I can relate to this...

'But something about the US presidential election, little more than a week away, is stressing people out. One study for the American Psychological Association found that more than two-thirds of American adults describe the current contest as “a significant source of stress in their lives”, and that angst is radiating across the world.'

BruceAndNosh · 24/10/2020 19:33

You can already buy TRUMP Jr 2024 merchandise...

BruceAndNosh · 24/10/2020 19:35

Actually, I'd love to see Don junior making a run for president.... Just to see him getting his arse kicked in the primaries

UntamedWisteria · 24/10/2020 19:35

I definitely have election angst!

JamieLeeCurtains · 24/10/2020 19:36

Won't Donald Junior and Eric be too busy fighting law suits, civil and criminal, to enter politics?

Daddy Trump will no doubt be pleading dementia and leaving them high and dry.

Roussette · 24/10/2020 19:37

You can already buy TRUMP Jr 2024 merchandise...

Good. Let them waste their money. If Biden wins (I always say 'if', do not want to jinx anything) a Trump will never ever be in this position again

TheNorthWestPawsage · 24/10/2020 19:47

OK after reading about/seeing the early voting turnout, I'm pinning my colours to the mast...Trump won't win the popular vote.
Electoral college...? JFC it's the hope that kills you.

lionheart · 24/10/2020 19:48

I'll just pop this here. Smile

BruceAndNosh · 24/10/2020 20:07

Ha ha ha!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 24/10/2020 20:47

Anyone else think she was voting against him? I bet she wants him to win this time even less than she wanted it last time.
