And those women in the photo were real women so they have (we presume) relatives somewhere. Why can't op be one of them

There's a famous photo from a particular small island. The man in the photo is my Step Fathers Grandad. Just because other people have seen the photo online, and possibly have a print of it as a souvenir, doesn't make it any less his relative!

I have posted quite a few photos online over the years, from my own family's photo collection. I have photos going back to the 1800s. It's amazing how many times they have reappeared, posted by other people, who often proceed to argue with me as to where/who it is a photo of. I know where they are photos of because my relative took it and it's sitting in my house with the name and date on the back, hand written about a hundred years ago.

@caughtalightsneeze some people really will argue that black is white! An old school friend of mine was adamant a few years ago that the place I worked in wasn't a MH hospital, and she would know as she lived opposite. The fact I had worked there for 3 years at that point was apparently irrelevant. (A quick Google would confirm I was correct!)

that's because i do very in depth research and explore all aspects for photos and in depth details on hundreds of websites , as i actually do this as a professional researcher so read it as you will, pile on if you want it's only to be expect that at least a couple of posters will on aibu. the photo was for fun and nothing more.
