I have NO idea whether anyone can actually see him. Whether he is in one of those cars in the first place if they can't.
Or whether it's just a ruse to pretend he is so his followers feel special.

But meeting military personnel when he's meant to be admitted to a hospital?

All very odd

Here we go..

Jeff Mason
@jeffmason1
Explanation from the White House: “President Trump took a short, last-minute motorcade ride to wave to his supporters outside and has now returned to the Presidential Suite inside Walter Reed.” (
@realDonaldTrump
has COVID-19.)

This person is a consultant at Walter Reed Hospital.

Every single person in the vehicle during that completely unnecessary Presidential “drive-by” just now has to be quarantined for 14 days. They might get sick. They may die. For political theater. Commanded by Trump to put their lives at risk for theater. This is insanity.

That Presidential SUV is not only bulletproof, but hermetically sealed against chemical attack. The risk of COVID19 transmission inside is as high as it gets outside of medical procedures. The irresponsibility is astounding. My thoughts are with the Secret Service forced to play.

Were there any shots close up?Can we be certain he was in the car?
Unbelievable.

Words · 04/10/2020 23:18

Sorry Roussette cross posted

Here's footage of him sat in the car.

Reckless stupid behaviour. How can this be justified. He's obviously a bit bored and the telly isn't big enough or something, so he needs to see his adoring followers.
This really is N Korea stuff

I am the last person in the world to wear tin foil headgear - but I am not entirely sure that was him.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 04/10/2020 23:23

Seen this type of description of Dexamethasone from several sources. NB I have NO medical knowledge whatsoever!
But what could possibly go wrong and would we know the difference,,,?

The dexamethasone Trump is now taking is known to cause what is called steroid psychosis. This psychosis can lead to mood changes, memory deficit, and bizarre delusions.

Words · 04/10/2020 23:24

How would people tell the difference though? Grin

There's a close up in the article above

OP posts:
Roussette · 04/10/2020 23:30

I think it's definitely him. It's a close up. And his small hands is a dead giveaway

This is crazy! What the actual fuck, He is putting others at risk. Those poor secret service guys and medical team. ShockShockConfused

Words · 04/10/2020 23:39

Hmm. Yes see what you mean. This is madness.

JamieLeeCurtains · 04/10/2020 23:39

Was it Alec Baldwin?

PerkingFaintly · 04/10/2020 23:48

OK, I'm glad he did this (apart from the risk to the poor sods trapped in the car with himAngry).

I mean, obviously it's absurd and the behaviour of the leader of personality cult. But because so much of Trumpism involves ludicrous conspiracy theories and blaming of every ill on some unknown lizardly "deep state", I think it is actually useful that his faithful get sight of him being obviously alive since his entrance to Walter Reid.

Otherwise if he did die, the rumour would be something like: he got into that helicopter at the White House and flew to a luxury yacht which took him into exile on an island mountain top where he flips burgers with Elvis and waits for his return as the once and future king.

Fill in your own fantasy fiction here. You know the stuff, can make it up by the yard.

So although bizarre and highly irresponsible, I think his cult need these visitations to keep them calm. I suspect they'll react better if the visitations tail off slowly as he gets more ill, than if their tin god is withdrawn from them suddenly.

ludothedog · 04/10/2020 23:48

@JamieLeeCurtains

Was it Alec Baldwin?
Please tell me it was a wind up and not real. Trump spokesperson just speaking on CNN just cut him off for his crazy gaslighting. Going on about how the president can't be hiding in the basement and needs to be taking the virus head-on. Yes, by infecting everyone around him!

I hope more Drs at the hospital speak out and then refuse to treat him if he is going to do more crazy stuff.

tobee · 04/10/2020 23:54

I was just expostulating to Dh about the risk to the drivers but he says surely the limo would have glass dividing window thingy? Not sure if that would make any/enough difference? Also, someone would have to clean it after??

Nomnomarrgh · 05/10/2020 00:14

I feel so sudpicious. I was trying to sit on the wall, but there was the whole thing about his oxygen levels being down but he’s being released on Monday, him apparently being a guinea pig to a new treatment. Then THIS. His motorcade moment. He doesn’t have it. Never did, just looking to boost his polls. [disgusted]

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/10/2020 00:15

Steroid psychosis is definitely a thing.

But this is straight out of the Trump playbook.

lionheart · 05/10/2020 00:40

Dodgy whichever way you look at it.

AcrossthePond55 · 05/10/2020 00:54

@Roussette

But Across he did a short statement stood in WR saying he was going to... my link to his tweet at the top of my post at 22.37

(it wont let me copy and paste it)

I didn't mean to doubt you personally Roussette and as it turns out the report is correct. It just took longer to hit our MSM than it did to hit the BBC. Guess I know now who to google first!

CNN is excoriating him (and rightly) for endangering staff and undermining the attempts of the actual medical authorities who are telling people to stay the fuck home!

But he just can't stand to be out of the spotlight, can he? No matter what the cost paid by others.

MFin' CSer.
