To be fair, rt-PCR tests before onset of symptoms can often be negative.
We don't know what tests they do and how often in reality.

Lweji · 04/10/2020 09:20

But this is why we shouldn't rely on testing alone and should wear masks and keep our distance.

CaveMum · 04/10/2020 10:32

Amen.
Heffalooomia · 04/10/2020 10:48

Why is there such a strong denial of oxygen
I think it's because Trump cannot stand to be seen as in any way weak, he has to be the best at everything

CaveMum · 04/10/2020 10:50

I think it’s a “thing” for all Presidential candidates. Illness can be twisted to mean weakness, particularly if you’ve got one candidate that is older than the other (not a factor in this election I know).

Roussette · 04/10/2020 11:33

So different to over here.

The Tories were very very quick off the mark to talk of Boris and his oxygen.

Maybe it was for the sympathy vote.

And if someone needs oxygen, they need it!

I imagined it was to stop the stock markets wobbling !

@TheNorthWestPawsage

Other rumours - Scaramuci has said to friends that he talked to Hope Hicks who said Trump showed symptoms before her and that she's being used as a scapegoat.
It's all starting to make sense now, including turning up "too late" for a test at the presidential debate and not giving a date for his last covid test. I think it's safe to assume that prior to the debate he was at least having symptoms if not already tested positive and they went ahead anyway and from there have constructed the narrative of Hope Hicks having symptoms first. They hoped he would have a mild dose and get away with it. That would also explain how he has gone downhill so fast, because he's further along in the disease that they are saying.

They really all are a bunch of diplorables. They can still shock me after all this time....

Roussette · 04/10/2020 11:39

Ludo yes yes yes.

The public aren't stupid. We really can put two and two together.

I read elsewhere that Hope Hicks (who incidentally got in the helicopter with no social distancing and no mask and with others from the administration, all whilst infected) says she feels she's been thrown under the bus.

We know

Interesting reports on news here this morning about how this positive covid for Trump could work in his favour
On the flip side of the coin, it could sink him. Going to fund raisers whilst infected with Covid is not a good look

Hope Hicks (...) feels she's been thrown under the bus.

Welcome to the Trump Administration. What else did she expect?

Heffalooomia · 04/10/2020 11:49

Wasn't hope Hicks one of his most loyal closest inner circle people?
how will he survive when those who protected and helped him start turning against him because he's thrown them under oncoming vehicles to save himself?

Heffalooomia · 04/10/2020 11:52

If you operate as a conman and you have to constantly move on to new pastures and escape the wrath of those that you have exploited
He has nowhere to go....

Roussette · 04/10/2020 11:54

Well.... she left the Administration only to come skulking back.
I wonder why that was...

Even if the Official timeline is accurate, the administration needs to explain why Trump continued to the Bedminster fundraiser AFTER Hicks +ve test was known, not only contrary to recommendations re exposure to known infected cases, but also contrary to State Law re quarantine after travelling from a designated Hotspot (Minnesota)

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/10/2020 13:10

The President is Above The law in trumphead.

His toadies don't seem to notice this or care about it. Or perhaps they just hope they will be above the law too if they cleave to him, not having noticed that historically, absolute rulers do not hesitate to get rid of anyone close to them whom they think in any way a threat; uncles, brothers, comrades, high-up members of the same party and so on have been murdered by dictators within living human memory, so why would Trump's associates be any safer if he gets his ten to fifteen years of absolute power before he dies of old age?

Heffalooomia · 04/10/2020 13:13

the administration needs to explain why
the ' reason' is....
Trump is king of the universe and people should be grateful to be infected with corona viruses which issue from his majesty's bronchial passages
🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

BruceAndNosh · 04/10/2020 13:19

I can't bear to watch Trump's twitter videos but prefer to read the transcript of them, much less annoying.
The one after his transfer to Walter Reed includes the following...

But this was something that’s happened and it was something that happened to millions of people all over the world and I’ve been fighting for them, not just in the U.S., I’m fighting for them all over the world.
We’re going to beat the coronavirus, or whatever you want to call it, and we’re going to beat it soundly. So many things are happening, if you look at the therapeutics, which I’m taking right now some of them, and others that are coming out soon that are looking like, frankly they’re miracles, if you want to know the truth. They’re miracles.

So he's fighting for people all over the world, and praises the therapeutics which he's taking... Which includes Remdesivir which the US bought the entire global stock back in June. Which is a bit crap for those 'all over the world' outside the USA

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 04/10/2020 13:32

I was struck by his remarking that "people" don't like him saying it's a miracle. Who would that be, then, in his isolated state? The doctors who chat with him?

Remdesivir has been for a while now the well-known cure for no actual disease, so its makers must be really pleased Trump is endorsing it and bought up all their (unused because no use) stock of it.

"Remdesivir was originally developed to treat hepatitis C and was then tested against Ebola virus disease and Marburg virus disease, but was ineffective for all of these viral infections." (Wikipedia)

What we need to know is, who in the Trump administration or with close ties to a member of the Trump administration has shares in Gilead Sciences, Inc?

(I hope very much that the reason Trump was silent for a while after he had taken it at the White House was because he was suffering from its most usual side effect among covid-19 victims, acute nausea. It would be only fair: he has been nauseating so many for so long...)

Takes jacket off, moves rooms, tries to colour within the lines. Why do they even bother?

The photos released by the WH tonight of the president working at Walter Reed were taken 10 minutes apart at 5:25:59 pm and 5:35:40 pm ET Saturday, according to the EXIF data embedded in both @AP wire postings that were shared by the White House this evening.

I love Jaime Harrison - he's one to watch whatever the outcome of his run against L Graham. The whole debate is on YouTube. A proper debate too. Short video clip in tweet.

The whole debate was like this, @harrisonjaime landing one solid, specific, undeniable blow after the next. Destroying Lindsey Graham with facts, not allowing a single BS blow to land.

Does anyone have audio of Lindsey crying? I need a new ring tone.

I wonder what salary the person in charge of campaign PR is paid.
If they're getting more than Trump's annual tax remit, they're overpaid.
Even their cover ups are shambolic
