Yep Bruce I know someone who's 60 and super fit, got it in March and most days has to go to bed in the afternoon for a couple of hours. No hospital treatment needed the same.

I just find it amazing that the likes of Johnson (overweight, unfit, likes a drink supposedly) can recover, but given his lacking work levels, who knows how well he has recovered and how well he is functioning.
I imagine Trump will be the same.

I did laugh to read he will be working from the Presidential offices at Walter Reed.
Why is he working now?! He's had plenty of chances for that!

They most probably wanted him in hospital before giving him remdesivir. It has been shown to have some efficacy in reducing length of illness, but it also has a lot of documented side effects.
As does Lysol.

Lweji · 03/10/2020 09:55

As does Lysol.Grin

PerkingFaintly · 03/10/2020 09:57

I think you've hit the nail on the head, Rousette.

When someone's normally a lazy bugger who leaves the hard work to other people, who's going to notice the difference between their work output pre-Covid and post-Covid.

I'm sure the Orange One can watch Fox, have "executive time" and fail to read reports just as easily from a hospital suite as from a suite in the residence.

BruceAndNosh · 03/10/2020 10:07

His scant 3 tweets yesterday shows how much "work" he is doing.

Sorry, that sounds like he's too busy to tweet.
I meant he considers tweeting as his major work, he can easily tweet 3 times in a minute.

on remdesivir: www.ema.europa.eu/en/news/meeting-highlights-pharmacovigilance-risk-assessment-committee-prac-28-september-1-october-2020

"EMA’s safety committee (PRAC) has started a review of a safety signal to assess reports of acute kidney injury in some patients with COVID-19 taking Veklury (remdesivir)."

BruceAndNosh
Last Saturday's (outdoor) Rose Garden nomination event has already been dubbed a Superspreader event with so far 7 attendees testing positive including 2 Rep Senators and Kelly Anne Conway.

Two is not enough; we need four to get them to back off from their rush to confirm their shill SCOTUS nominee,

Roussette
KellyAnne Conway tests positive, she is talking into people's ears, close up to others there.
No wonder there are so many cases with the Republican administration
And there'll be more

It is unkind to wish people unwell, but honest to God, I really can't help it.

Enough Republican senators being unwell enough not to be able to vote for a while would make me feel Just Fine.

I agree Asking - McConnell would be at the very top of my list.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/10/2020 10:49

By the way, I woke this morning to the sound of the radio about someone saying they'd been a Republican all their life and live in a state where voting has started so they'd just posted their ballot. Their ballot for Biden.

It has brightened my day a little, that titbit. I don't know who he was nor what state he was in, but I am just hoping there are hundreds of thousands just like him in the USA -- especially in the swing states.

Heffalooomia · 03/10/2020 11:27

Tom Joseph on Twitter is speculating that Trump's treatment will be complicated by anti psychotic or other medication that he might already be on, his use of stimulants etc presumably has some impact on his overall health?
If he is snorting things that will affect the health of his respiratory tissues perhaps that will explain why his symptoms started so quickly?🤔

BruceAndNosh · 03/10/2020 11:30

@AskingQuestionsAllTheTime Two is not enough; we need four to get them to back off from their rush to confirm their shill SCOTUS nominee
Does the Senate vote in person? or are they doing remote voting (MAIL IN FRAUD!!!!)

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/10/2020 11:51

Remote at this point, I think. Even though the Republicans didn't want it and tried hard to vote it down at the beginning, until about May, they may have come round to the idea when more of them (no masks, spread it around) were getting it than Democrats (wore masks, didn't infect each other).

It would be ironic if the reluctance then scuppered them now, but I don't think it's going to happen. They need to be ill enough not to be fit to vote, I'm afraid.

But I might be wrong. (looks hopeful)

Roussette · 03/10/2020 11:53

I am just confused.

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/hope-hicks-coronavirus-air-force-one-jared-kushner-trump-aides-b746987.html

Here is footage of Hope Hicks on Wednesday with the rest of the entourage boarding Air Force One, touching the handrail, no masks, a helicopter inside is small

Next day it's announced she tested positive. How on earth did Kushner et al get away with that?

The death toll is now up to 207,818.

Will the republican party now listen and adhere to social distancing, masks, staying at home... now their dear Leader has caught it..

OP posts:
BruceAndNosh · 03/10/2020 12:01

I saw that clip @Roussette with them all going onto Marine ! and AF1, each one holding onto the hand rail. Jammy bastards

Anyone want to lay money on Official Trump merchandise site now including masks? (It didint when i last looked a couple of days ago)

BruceAndNosh · 03/10/2020 12:02

Kushner didn't get it because he's a vampire

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 03/10/2020 12:05

Masks are essentially unselfish, for the benefit of others; they're not a good fit for people who are "I'm all right Jack" and "nobody has the right to tell me what to do" and "let other people look out for themselves, I am looking out for me".

Jason118 · 03/10/2020 12:05

Top drawer idea

BruceAndNosh · 03/10/2020 12:07

Trump said during the debate "I wear a mask when I need to" ie it's totally up to him, not considering that OTHER people feel he needs to.

@BruceAndNosh

Kushner didn't get it because he's a vampire
Grin

Not even people living in the same small house will all get it.

Friend has had it, her husband and children haven't. She isolated in a bedroom when her symptoms started, but was obviously mixing with them, preparing food and sleeping in the same bed as her husband between infection and symptoms showing, and they only have one bathroom so she still had to use it.

They're both HCPs who get tested regularly at work, so they know he definitely hasn't had it.

Roussette · 03/10/2020 12:13

they'd go crazeeeeee

I just laugh when I see pics of the Proud Boys. I know they're meant to be cool and intimidating and tuff... but they just look daft to me with their stupid black Fred Perry polo shirts
(Fred Perry have incidentally stopped making these polos because of the connection.)

OP posts:
Roussette · 03/10/2020 12:16

even the name 'Proud Boys' makes me laugh. It's not very masculine Grin to have to copy how someone dresses to be able to strut about lol
