To ask if any of you have this Jellycat?

A couple of days ago, I won a Jellycat on eBay that I’ve been searching for yet the sale was cancelled after payment due to another buyer offering more.

I am desperately seeking this Jellycat in large size (36cm head to toe) for a young relative. I don’t want to give away too many details as I feel this post is already identifying as I’ve been posting everywhere I can - I have name changed too.

They sell for a lot of money on eBay and I would be willing to pay via PayPal goods and services if anyone had one they would consider selling.

I would really appreciate it! This Jellycat is retired and can no longer be purchased.

Sorry I can't help, but I hope you can get one! Have you tried asking at the charity shops to let you know if they get one in?

Shitty of them to cancel your sale after you'd paid!! Did you try offering more?

BluebellJellycat · 10/09/2020 23:38

@MJMG2015

Thank you for your reply, I really appreciate it.
I didn’t know if it would be cheeky to ask charity shops to do that. Yes, I offered more than the other seller but they said they didn’t want to cancel another sale for fear of letting down 2 buyers I think.

They’re not meant to cancel the sale after payment.

@Lockheart
Thank you so much for your reply, it really means a lot. The colour of the bunny is not quite right as I’m looking for a bluebell and this is their baby blue colour.

I’m thankful for the effort you went to anyway. I’ve been searching for months and posting here was my last resort - I can’t believe I almost had one on eBay and they cancelled the sale Sad

The colour has unfortunately been retired for a long time.

Does it really have to be large size? The medium is only 5cm short I think.

TinyRaindrops · 10/09/2020 23:49

There are several going on eBay USA.

I checked and two of the sellers have this info on shipping:

Ships to:
United States and many other countries | See details

BluebellJellycat · 10/09/2020 23:49

@Lockheart
The medium is retired too but yes it does, the large is quite a bit bigger when you see them side by side and it’s for a relative.

That website is from 2015 and is very misleading unfortunately but thank you again!

The eBay ones are medium sadly. This image (not mine) shows how different the size is

I hope you reported that seller to eBay as i'm sure they aren't allowed to do that

BluebellJellycat · 10/09/2020 23:53

@SophieGiroux
Thank you, I did report them and it is against eBay guidelines. Support told me they will get a ‘defect’ on their account whatever that means.

Many tears were shed as it’s a special item! I really thought I’d hit the jackpot.

BluebellJellycat · 10/09/2020 23:54

It sounds silly to be so upset but they really don’t come up often. This is my last resort Sad

Have you spoken to world of bears? I phoned them once, looking for a retired jelly cat and although it wasn’t on their website, they had 5 in stock.

Lockheart · 11/09/2020 00:06

OP, if it's really super important, could you not buy a light blue one and have it dyed? I'm sure there are crafty people around in your local area who could help.

FirTree01 · 11/09/2020 00:06

If you haven't already, OP, it might be worth checking eBay in different countries. Just google eBay followed by the name of the country, that'll take you to the site and you can Google translate the rest.

I was absolutely desperate for a particular bowl that was discontinued and out of stock absolutely everywhere. I suddenly got the notion to google ''eBay Denmark'' one day and there it was, 3 of them for sale, in fact.

I can't speak Danish but cobbled a message together and luckily the seller was willing to send it to me.

Just an idea! Good luck!

BluebellJellycat · 11/09/2020 00:07

@MossBank

Hi, thanks for you reply! It’s not unfortunately, that seems like an imitation of the ‘iris’ colour and apparently that is very dodgy when I’ve asked on Jellycat Facebook groups.

I emailed them regarding their stock and they said they had no other images only those on the website so I’m not sure I’d trust them.

I really appreciate you looking though Smile I’m pretty sure the only way I’ll find one is if another goes up on eBay, depop or another site (alerts are set up) or someone has one here they’d be willing to sell as I think I’ve exhausted all websites.

2020nymph · 11/09/2020 00:07

No luck on any of sites so far, it's a beautiful shade of blue.

I've just had a look on Facebook and there are quite a few jellycat groups, including a buy and sell uk one, you have to join to have a look but might be worth a go?

purpleclaire · 11/09/2020 00:07

When I was in Christchurch in Dorset, last summer, there was a card and gift shop that sold all sorts of Jellycat rabbits in a wide range of colours. I don't know the name of the shop, but it's on the high street. Good luck.

BluebellJellycat · 11/09/2020 00:08

@Lockheart
I have thought about dying one. There are specific groups of people who dye them and sell them but thought I’d try here as a last attempt. Thank you! Smile

BluebellJellycat · 11/09/2020 00:11

@CatsMother66
Tried all the big shops, thank you Smile

@FirTree01
Good idea! I’ve been checking USA and U.K. eBay and a seller’s sure from Thailand but I’ll try other countries.

@2020nymph
I’m in the groups so anyone who posts in them will know exactly who I am. Thank you so much for the suggestion though.

@purpleclaire
Thank you! I’ll google just incase it’s one I haven’t checked

SE13Mummy · 11/09/2020 00:11

There's a small one in Yarmouth - it's on FB marketplace. I don't think I've ever known anyone purchase a large jellycat.

BluebellJellycat · 11/09/2020 00:14

@SE13Mummy
They make all the sizes between tiny and really big. Medium is the most popular in most colours

OP posts:
Justpickaname · 11/09/2020 00:14

Could you maybe get a light coloured one and dye it somehow?

BluebellJellycat · 11/09/2020 00:15

@Justpickaname
I could try! I’m a bit worried about getting the shade wrong and wasting £30 when hopefully someone would be willing to sell theirs for £50/60

OP posts:
BluebellJellycat · 11/09/2020 00:16

I’d obviously be open to negotiating a price if someone had one and wanted more money for it Smile
