The Lincoln project and the wall. Just not the one DJT promised.

If that New Yorker photo was of this event, did Trump plan it so he had a halo? A bit lopsided, mind.

TheNorthWestPawsage · 28/08/2020 16:11

There's always this photo from last month.

AcrossthePond55 · 28/08/2020 17:28

I did a double take at that North. Then decided that it looks perfectly natural after all.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 28/08/2020 18:34

Tee hee! Who took that one?

Thinking outside the box.

The NBA just announced that all basketball arenas will be turned into 2020 voting locations.
Ample space for large amounts of people to vote safely.

Trump loves his ratings - too bad he didn't get them. Smile

Trump’s big White House speech was a ratings flop — and got fewer viewers than Joe Biden last week.

Happening today.

March on Washington: Thousands gather at historic civil rights march.
Thousands are gathered in Washington DC to commemorate the 1963 civil rights March on Washington and in protest of police violence.
The families of black Americans shot or killed by police will speak at the same site where Martin Luther King Jr delivered his I Have a Dream speech.
Friday's event is called the Commitment March: Get Your Knee Off Our Necks, a reference to George Floyd's death.

The Dodgers made their announcement 2 weeks ago.

My family boasts 4 generations of Dodger fans, stretching all the way back to their Brooklyn days. They're a great team and a great organization.

They were the first team to break the color barrier when they fielded Jackie Robinson on 15 April 1947. In fact, 15 April is now celebrated by all MLB teams as "Jackie Robinson Day" and all players wear a # 42 jersey on that day in his honor.

"We bleed Dodger Blue" is our family motto. If we had a coat of arms, it'd be inscribed on it in Latin. lol

Top general says no role for military in presidential vote.
apnews.com/a979ad8beceacd77c692e42448cf7b82

The U.S. armed forces will have no role in carrying out the election process or resolving a disputed vote, the top U.S. military officer told Congress in comments released Friday.

The comments from Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, underscore the extraordinary political environment in America, where the president has declared without evidence that the expected surge in mail-in ballots will make the vote “inaccurate and fraudulent,” and has suggested he might not accept the election results if he loses.

Trump’s repeated complaints questioning the election’s validity have triggered unprecedented worries about the potential for chaos surrounding the election results. Some have speculated that the military might be called upon to get involved, either by Trump trying to use it to help his reelection prospects or as, Democratic challenger Joe Biden has suggested, to remove Trump from the White House if he refuses to accept defeat. The military has adamantly sought to tamp down that speculation and is zealously protective of its historically nonpartisan nature.

“I believe deeply in the principle of an apolitical U.S. military,” Milley said in written responses to several questions posed by two Democratic members of the House Armed Services Committee. “In the event of a dispute over some aspect of the elections, by law U.S. courts and the U.S. Congress are required to resolve any disputes, not the U.S. military. I foresee no role for the U.S armed forces in this process.”

Milley’s tone reflects the longstanding views of military leaders who insist that the nation’s military stays out of politics and that troops are sworn to protect the country and uphold the Constitution.

Minimammoth · 28/08/2020 22:25

Just coming in to say. How dare they use the White House? Am gobsmacked at the, well at the what am not sure...just gobsmacked

AcrossthePond55 · 28/08/2020 23:17

"I foresee no role for the U.S armed forces in this process.”

I think I may agree with this as far as removing Scrotus from the WH. The WH is federal, not military, property. IF someone was to be forcibly removed from it I'd say it would be handled by the Federal Protective Service or possibly the US Marshal's Office. Maybe the Secret Service since it may involve the safety of the incoming president?

Who knows. All I know is that I hope to God someone leaks the video. 😆😆

I think that ceremony was a big red flag telling us that he won't leave the White House willingly, he believes he is entitled to be there in perpetuity ....

TheClaws · 29/08/2020 02:19

No, it isn't suddenly 2016: it's POTUS resurrecting some old hits right now at his New Hampshire rally.

I think he also had step trouble in New Hampshire.

Here's a thing:

TheClaws · 29/08/2020 05:17

This is something I always predicted. I did think he would attempt to nominate Ivanka as VP, but perhaps something more shady and dynastic as going on. Or perhaps Trump will step down (if he is re-elected) early in his term and find some kind of loophole that Ivanka can step into.

The Hill @thehill 1hr

Trump says he wants to see first woman president, but not Harris: "They're all saying 'we want Ivanka,'" hill.cm/x22Qv1a

TheClaws · 29/08/2020 05:26

In any case, it isn't certain who "they" are that are calling for Ivanka to be POTUS.
