Comey's latest instagram post.

I thought the speakers was a joke.

But no, when they go low, they go lower.

Comey's latest instagram post.

He can go and fuck himself, as far as I'm concerned. His handling of the email issue led to 4 years of this mess.

lionheart · 18/08/2020 20:47

Not a joke Lweji and yes to what you say about Comey and the underhand tactics he used to get his own way.

AcrossthePond55 · 18/08/2020 20:52

You are absolutely right, Asking. She didn't use a 'wrong figure'.

I came to post about the McCloskeys, Lweji, but you beat me to it. Unbe-fucking-lievable.

lionheart · 18/08/2020 20:59

Poor Susan B. Anthony.

I would pay to have reporters ask him a whole series of follow up questions about the life and times of Susan B. Anthony before she was finally saved by Trump.

AcrossthePond55 · 18/08/2020 21:28

He's so ignorant I'm surprised he didn't add "So I've sent a message to the warden of the prison she's in to let her out". Git.

TheSparklyPussycat · 18/08/2020 21:29

Ah I had the prerecorded thing and the wrong numbers arse about face.

So he used the out-of-date number to show that the speech was pre-recorded, I see.

I bet he thought he was being oh so clever Hmm

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 18/08/2020 21:57

She gave an open-ended figure, somewhat on the low side. He said it was wrong, and that figure on the day her speech was broadcast was 'way higher. This is called "shooting yourself in the foot" -- which it isn't because that was a deliberate self-injury to get invalided out of the trenches, and I'm fairly sure he didn't mean to make a fool of himself, but that is what it is generally called.

Self-inflicted injury, certainly.

TheSparklyPussycat · 18/08/2020 23:20

I've just spent a fair time reading the transcript of his "God" speech yesterday, the whole speech is the ramblings of a fool, of course.

I came across this photo of Trump at the podium at the 19th amendment commemoration, flanked by some people who know he can't see their faces...

The DNC has Colin Powell to speak.

Great line in The Independent comments section on Trump's talk with God. "I had a word with God, she said she’s never heard of him, she only talks to good people"
Roussette · 19/08/2020 08:05

According to many sources the RNC will have these speakers...

The Covington High School pupil who smirked and stared out the old Native American guy
The couple from St. Louis who pointed guns at everyone during a peaceful BLM protest
Diamond & Silk
And Trump will speak every day.

What a nightmare

Jacinda Arden NZ PM responds to Trump who talks about the outbreak in NZ (13 cases!) and says it's a good job we're not getting that, it's awful.

@lionheart

The DNC has Colin Powell to speak.
Not too unexpected, but a blow for GOP nonetheless.
lionheart · 19/08/2020 10:37

John Bolton won't vote Trump (or Biden).

Or show up at a crucial national security hearing.

But he does have a book in the pipeline.

The World Service was reporting last night that DeLoy was backing down,

"The postmaster general has long defended his changes to the agency as necessary to address USPS’s “dire” financial position" -- what, ever since he was appointed in late June?

Roussette · 19/08/2020 12:14

Here is his statement...

Oh sorry, I see the statement is within your article AskingQuestions

Interesting to see what happens Friday and Monday as he testifies

Well, it's interesting. It seems to amount to "a bad boy did it and ran away" -- all that is lacking is "it's all Obama's fault!"

As for "the expansion of our current leadership taskforce on election mail to enhance our ongoing work" -- more actual workers and the machines and mailboxes they need to do their work efficiently would be a great deal more to the point than more people being "leaders".

Trump campaign sues New Jersey over mail-in voting
thehill.com/homenews/campaign/512655-trump-campaign-sues-new-jersey-over-mail-in-voting

...Justin Clark, Trump's deputy campaign manager, wrote in an op-ed for The Wall Street Journal that New Jerseyans "who want to vote in person face a real threat that their ballots won't be counted."

Clark links to a 2016 investigation by the New Jersey outlet Ashbury Park Press which found 2,460 voters on the rolls who had been dead for at least five years, nearly 60 of whom had apparently cast votes after they died.

That same investigation, however, found that those votes were likely counted due to clerical errors rather than fraud, and no election outcomes were changed because of it.

"All this shows how the state voting rolls have many more names than live voters, but voting records show there is no apparent intentional fraud, at least when it comes to the 'dead' voting," the study states. "In a pool of 4.9 million registered voters, it would take a zombie army to change the outcome of a statewide election."...

AcrossthePond55 · 19/08/2020 15:21

Well, it's interesting. It seems to amount to "a bad boy did it and ran away" -- all that is lacking is "it's all Obama's fault!"

That's already happened. When questioned about getting rid of the sorting machine as USPS muckity-muck blustered a few excuses, got shot down by the reporter, and ended up saying "removing the machines was a plan that happened under the Obama Admin". Riiiight. Like it would take 4 years from a 'plan' to removing some machines. In only blue states. Riiiiight. Yep. We all buy that. Uh-huh.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 19/08/2020 15:36

"The campaign claims .... accuses Murphy of violating the 14th Amendment."

How is it a violation of the fourteenth amendment to make sure that each registered voter has a ballot to cast? I don't get that.
