All sung in a wishy washy breathy pathetic style. Probably by the same person. Who sounds like they could barely blow out a candle.

Born to be Wild is associated with one of the most famous counterculture films ever.
500 miles should be sung near the end of a concert with a horde of drunk fans roaring the "Ba dah bah" line back
Even Dancing in the Moonlight was a nice bouncy summer tune till she got her pallid hands on it.

I'm not against covers- and some slow covers can be decent occasionally- but this stuff has all the power of the tepid urine of an anaemic gnat.

I was thinking this morning about how awfullllllll the Born to be Wild cover is!

Could I be cheeky and rant about an abomination I heard on the radio this morning - a "cover" of no more I love you by Annie Lennox. Just awful.

My husband and I were discussing this very thing today. We had the radio on in the car on a long drive and there were about six songs in a row that were terrible, drippy cover versions of songs that were crap to start with. We were wondering why anyone bothers because presumably the vast majority of the royalties will be split between the original songwriter and the record company, so what's in it for the breathy singer? About a tenner in royalties and a few weeks on MagicTV presumably....(if MagicTV even exists any more)

Totally loving the the image of Worra cranking up some half arsed singer ... reminds me of that Diana Vickers singing Take That’s ‘Patience’ on X Factor and my Auntie Mary saying, ‘I think that poor wee lass is having an asthma attack’.

Not heard the covers you mention, but I’m astonished anyone would cover Dancing in the Moonlight anyway. It sounds like a bad nursery rhyme with its stupid jangly tune. Makes me want to chuck the radio out of the window!

I just read this to do and cited Dancing in The moonlight. He confused it with Thin Lizzy version and was dismissive of my huffing

Then I found the wishy washy version of the thin lizzy song.

Didn't it start with that cover of mad world (I'm thinking donnie darko???) Which is actually brilliant.

But almost everything else done this way just makes me want to ingest my own innards!
