@lionheart

If he thinks he will lose he must be developing an exit strategy which is designed to avoid prosecution.

Wonder where he can run?

Brazil? Russia? Florida? Grin
TheNorthWestPawsage · 12/07/2020 11:23

But not because it was actually the wrong thing to do. Does anyone actually give a shit what Billy Barr "recommends"?

Barr recommended Trump not give Stone clemency: report
thehill.com/homenews/administration/506895-barr-recommended-trump-not-give-stone-clemency-report

Sources told NBC that Barr and White House chief of staff Mark Meadows recommended against the move over concerns of political blowback.

JFC everyone's an author now.

Donald Trump Jr. to self-publish book 'Liberal Privilege' before GOP convention

thehill.com/homenews/campaign/506898-donald-trump-jr-to-self-publish-book-liberal-privilege-before-gop

"Thrilled to announce that during the last few months of quarantine, I've been working on a new book, LIBERAL PRIVILEGE!" he said in a tweet Saturday announcing the book. "Blown away by what Biden has gotten away with, more details next week! Libs already triggered!"

Trump Jr. told Axios, which first reported the forthcoming release of the book, that it will be available the same week as the Republican National Convention and that it will seek to paint a critical picture of former Vice President Joe Biden

Not really a surprise:
abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory/tucker-carlson-writer-resigns-racist-posts-revealed-71735315

“We want to make abundantly clear that Fox News Media strongly condemns this horrific racist, misogynistic and homophobic behavior,” Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott and President Jay Wallace said in a memo to staffers.

Yeah, right.

lionheart · 12/07/2020 12:28

Barr was leaking the fact that he thought pardoning Stone was some kind of red line. Self-serving and empty show of resistance on his part I think.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/07/2020 12:53

He's leaked about thinking something or other was a red line before and then done nothing whatever about it. He's just a pathalogical liar, like his big orange buddy.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 12/07/2020 12:54

pathological! Gah.

crosseyedMary · 12/07/2020 13:57

Regarding the book by trump Jr..... there's a punctuation mistake on the cover!!!

Oh haha that's hilarious!

OMG his latest tweets....
'I know many in business and politics that work out endlessly, in some cases to a point of exhaustion. It is their number one passion in life, but nobody complains. My “exercise” is playing, almost never during the week, a quick round of golf. Obama played more and much longer....
...rounds, no problem. When I play, Fake News CNN, and others, park themselves anywhere they can to get a picture, then scream “President Trump is playing golf.” Actually, I play VERY fast, get a lot of work done on the golf course, and also get a “tiny” bit of exercise. Not bad!

Is he round the bend? Obama played 306 times in 8 years. Trump is up to 275 times in three and a half years!

If Scrotus were Pinocchio his nose would now reach from DC to Honolulu.

Scrotus is trying to 'stack the judicial deck' (especially in NY) and do personal favours now to avoid prosecution & interfere with potential witnesses once he's out of office, just in case his plans to rig the election don't work. These are scary times.

I think the comment above re Kavanaugh is spot on. He's trying to run with the (current) hares and hunt with the (future) hounds. As far as Barr, he knows he's dead meat with a reputation in shreds once Scrotus is out of office. So he's trying to make 'little noises' of disapproval that he hopes Scrotus won't notice but that will make people think he's 'not so bad after all'. It's not working.

113 days until Election Day. 192 days until Inauguration Day.

lionheart · 12/07/2020 18:20

He'll say he meant only one Democrat.

'Washington (CNN)Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, the chairman of the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee, said Sunday that he will grant a request by Democrats to have former special counsel Robert Mueller testify about his investigation before the committee.'

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 13/07/2020 10:30

"(Which is also why Trump is claiming, with no evidence, that voting by mail will cause widespread voter fraud.)"

The reason Trump is talking about postal ballots meaning voter fraud is because that is what he is planning to do. (The voter fraud, I mean.)

I am astounded he is able to vote: doesn't America go in for quite complicated ballots with all sorts of things on them, local posts as well as President? I would have thought he would find it too confusing to read so much.

David Hogg, the gun control activist and student who survived the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in 2018, asks this question on Twitter.

For y’all who voted for Trump in 2016 but are not voting of him again what made you change your mind?

John Pavlovitz powerful words of wisdom

johnpavlovitz.com/2020/03/19/it-shouldnt-take-a-disaster-to-remove-a-disaster/

Roussette · 13/07/2020 13:38

"So this November, even if he is removed because a small portion of them finally rejected him and we can begin to rebuild from the rubble that will be left, I’m not going to celebrate, because it will have come with such a heavy price. I’m not going to rejoice knowing how malignant and invasive suffering needs to be before it tips the scales within them.

We should never have been here in the first place.
This many people should never have chosen him.
This many people shouldn’t have fought for him.
This many people shouldn’t have dug in their heels for him.

It should have never come to this moment, when his lies and ineptitude and fraudulence leveled us.

It should never have taken a disaster to remove a disaster.

That’s the kind of America we’re going to have to live in moving forward."

lionheart · 13/07/2020 14:53

He's good and hopeful. Smile

AcrossthePond55 · 13/07/2020 15:05

"That’s the kind of America we’re going to have to live in moving forward."

Those are true words. Instead of living in an America where we presumed that most of the time a politician had 'good motives' (even when we disagreed with them) we will be living in a country where we presume corruption in every move a politician makes.

So, Graham's going to allow Mueller to testify....what's up with that? He's either deserting the sinking SS Scrotus or he's going to 'throttle' the testimony in some way.

Hey!! I just proved my first paragraph, didn't I?
