To think a demon has attacked me in my sleep

I woke up with three parallel scratch marks on my collarbone. Don't be silly, I hear you say, you just scratched yourself in your sleep. Except I have a horrible habit of biting my nails down to the quick, they are useless stubs that can't even scratch an itch when I want them to.

I have not been near any branches or pets with claws. The only logical conclusion is of course, a demon.

Am I doomed? This is how all the horror movies start isn't it?

Has she been consumed, possessed, exorcised..or just stuck on a long zoom call?

It's the Krampus. He normally goes around at Christmas though.

I'm not sure about Classics @dementedma ... If I do end up being dragged to a Circle of Hell (and tbh it could be any one of the nine), my legacy would be immortalised in a mumsnet thread that would appear on Google whenever anyone wakes up in a similar predicament.

Given the choice between a bat, a rat and a demon, I’d take the demon. Agreed! Someone else asked about bats. I've seen LOADS in the last few weeks. I've never seen any, ever, around here, but it's become a twisted fascination to sit and watch them at dusk while squirming inwardly. If I'm now sharing my space with a bat lurking in a corner somewhere, I would definitely rather have the demon!

@dementedma I thought similar at the idea of Tom Ellis as Lucifer being the scratch culprit. Either one of them would be a silver lining to whatever my doom turns out to be!

I have no sensible suggestions. Only to say that is definitely a demon. This happens to me 2-3 times a month, I woke up once with the bugger sitting on my chest. Every house I’ve ever lived in has had a ‘presence’ of some sort. I’m beginning to see that the issue is probably me!

Most definitely a demon mark but fear not you can be saved.

Demons are easily confused so get a red sharpie and add a dot underneath each scratch turning the demon mark into an Awen symbol. Go full on Druid and shit that demon up.

Are you involved in any occult practices? My late grandmother used to love going to fortune tellers, etc. She once woke up with teeth marks on one of her breasts. It definitely was not self inflicted, as she kept her false teeth in a glass at night.

Did she have a pet llama? The only time I've ever had teethmarks on my boob was when a llama bit me.

I've got short nails and have still managed to scratch myself at night sometimes. I do it if my skin is dry and slightly irritated (I know as I've done it accidentally in the daytime also).
