I'm white. Lived in an Arabic African country and was treated differently because of the colour of my skin.

What is your AIBU?

@PatricksRum - you can just keep repeating the same thing but it won’t make it true. Racial prejudice and racism are the same thing.

I have lived in countries where I am a visible minority and have suffered racism.

How can you possibly know if people have experienced racism or not?

I’m white and when I lived abroad for the best part of a decade I certainly did experience racism, in a country known for it.

I see your point, but it's a bit American - centric.
Europeans have a different history, different ethnic faultlines, different relationships with minorities.

Not at all denying the difficulties and racism that black Europeans experience. But I'd be wary of seeing it from an American lens - that wont help us with our own particular difficulties and nuances.

So please explain to me then, what is the difference between racism and racial prejudice? Is anti-semitism not a form of racism?
