GunungBatur · 30/05/2020 14:16

@Blueuggboots I loved District 9! I thought it was fantastic.

thriftyhen · 30/05/2020 14:17

"Gremlins". Horrific film!!! Grin

TazSyd · 30/05/2020 14:19

The Lovely Bones is another one.

VortexofBloggery · 30/05/2020 14:23

The Kindergarten Teacher (Maggie Gyllenhal)

gumball37 · 30/05/2020 14:23

Brightburn.

I second sleepers. Also, he wrote a book called Apaches (not about Indians) that was super disturbing

daisypond · 30/05/2020 14:24

Buried.

gumball37 · 30/05/2020 14:24

@GunungBatur I read somewhere there will be a sequel!!

mumwon · 30/05/2020 14:26

the Australian remake (thank you youtube) 2010 of
On the beach -it was a tv movie but excellent even worth following the multiple parts on youtube
I think there was another Australian film based on the real events of the Granville Rail crash in Sydney called Day of Roses
A Nigerian Film I think it was called 90 days real story about the Ebola Epidemic
(I am an insomniac & watch international films after midnight)
Threads & Day After & The War Game

mopsue · 30/05/2020 14:26

Jaws, still struggle to swim in the sea!

mopsue · 30/05/2020 14:27

And arachnophobia, I still
sometimes look around the toilet for a spider!

ilovecardigans · 30/05/2020 14:27

I found Joker deeply disturbing. It's a brilliant film with a stellar performance from Joaquin Phoenix that had a lot to say about mental health, but it was so grim in places. Not your average comic book 'hero' film...

rainbowcakes · 30/05/2020 14:28

Bone Tomahawk, a western horror film about cannibals. I wasnt even really watching it, I had fallen asleep and my husband was watching it in our bedroom. But there was one particular scene where the screaming from the film woke me up...honest to god it was the most violent, disturbing gruesome scene i have ever seen in a film in my life. Just the sounds and the screams went right through me. I sometimes think about it and it makes me feel so unsettled!

BillBaileysBum · 30/05/2020 14:29

The Green Mile.

jcurve · 30/05/2020 14:29

Second Wolf Creek (have never made it through the whole movie) and Fish Tank (deeply, deeply unsettling).

In the same realm as Fishtank is Lilya 4 Ever, a Swedish movie about a trafficked Russian teenager. I found it really upsetting.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/05/2020 14:30

The boy the stripped Pyjamas had me literally shaking with sobs.

In the name of the Father. Particularly the part where th young girl was screaming and had to be sedated. Imagine the terror of going to prison for something you hadn't done.

TheDogsMother · 30/05/2020 14:30

Another vote for Misery also Notes on a Scandal.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/05/2020 14:30

The only personal comfort id take is. Well God knows the truth.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/05/2020 14:31

Oh YY to Misery. The part where she breaks his ankles with the hammer.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 30/05/2020 14:33

Final Destination 3. Where they get trapped on the sunbeds and burn to death.

Martyrs totally freaked me out, awful. Not sure I could watch it again.

Another that freaked me out but in a good way - lots f paganism and occult was Wake Wood which has Timothy Spall in it - brilliant.

mumwon · 30/05/2020 14:40
