Eden Lake.
It’s horrible.

elp30 · 30/05/2020 21:30

I have no idea if anyone has already mentioned it but for me, it was "Dear Zachary".

It's actually a documentary.

I felt like I was broken into a million pieces after I watched it.

Another documentary film that has stayed with me is, "Three Identical Strangers".

Just when you think you understand, you realize you don't.

MorganKitten · 30/05/2020 21:38

A Serbian Film

Most of the films mentioned here didn’t get to me but in a past job I used to have to watch screeners of films and a lot on here were there.

Great suggestions, place marking for later Smile

Dondevastu · 30/05/2020 21:39

Somebody mentioned Fish tank..I love that movie..I didnt find it unsettling as such but it's always stayed with me for some reason.
I think Fassbender is brilliant in it as is the young girl who plays the lead.

SimplySteveRedux · 30/05/2020 21:39

Also, *One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest". Brings me to uncontrollable tears.

Hoggleludo · 30/05/2020 21:44

There was one. When I worked in blockbuster. That everyone said was horrific. It even got banned.

tararabumdeay · 30/05/2020 21:47

I came on here to say 'Johnny Got His Gun' but a PP beat me to it. I too (like the PP) watched it late at night as a teen but I was too young to be stoned.

The80sweregreat · 30/05/2020 22:21

Parasite.

Varnas · 30/05/2020 22:27

The Butterfly effect,
May be you've seen it, it's old but gold.
Very unsettling, I still can't get myself to watch it again.

Rainb0wDrops · 30/05/2020 22:33

Hotel Rwanda - based on Rwandan genocide. Some really shocking scenes

Lilja 4ever - about human trafficking and sex trade. It still haunts me.

BetteDavisWeLuvU · 30/05/2020 22:38

@Purpletigers yes this what I was going to say -Last House on the Left - utterly disturbing, horrible. Really, really shook me up and stayed with me.
