What do I do

OP posts:
gamerchick · 16/05/2020 15:25

Is it stuck?

LynetteScavo · 16/05/2020 15:25

Wait for it to come
out the other end? Presumably if it was able to go down it should go through.

Ostanovka · 16/05/2020 15:25

Can he breathe?

cultkid · 16/05/2020 15:25

It's in his stomach I think he has eaten it he said he didn't realise
Is it dangerous
Dr google seems to say no but surely it's going to hurt when he goes to the toilet

OP posts:
Aria20 · 16/05/2020 15:26

He'll poop it out, remember mine doing the same at about that age.

cultkid · 16/05/2020 15:26

Urgh am I going to have to sift through his poo

OP posts:
CannonCaboodle · 16/05/2020 15:26

Don't worry. He'll shit it out.

FOJN · 16/05/2020 15:27

I'm assuming you are not consulting the internet whilst he is choking so I think it's safe to assume it will come out the other end.

RubbishRobotFromTheDawnOfTime · 16/05/2020 15:27

This might help

Why will you have to sift through his poo? Confused

iklboo · 16/05/2020 15:27

It'll most likely come out the usual way. It might be a bit uncomfortable but it shouldn't hurt a huge amount. There's nothing a doctor can do about it really.

NannyR · 16/05/2020 15:28

I don't think there is anything you can do. If he's not in any pain or discomfort I would just keep an eye on him and it should come out in the loo in a day or two. If it seems stuck or he's in pain, I would call 111 for advice.

FOJN · 16/05/2020 15:28

Why would you sift through his poo. It will not be taking a detour and getting lost!

cultkid · 16/05/2020 15:29

He's not choking but I'm worried it would damage his guts
The info online says he will be fine
I'll call 111 if he complains of a tummy ache

@RubbishRobotFromTheDawnOfTime
Thank you for that link xx

Worst case scenario is that he has to poo a sapling plum tree.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/05/2020 15:33

He will be fine, assuming it went in ok, it will pass through him ok. I did it all the time as a child.

gamerchick · 16/05/2020 15:34

It'll just come out in his poo. You don't have to check.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/05/2020 15:34

If he’s had a plum he will need to go soon, plums are great for soft poo.

SeaToSki · 16/05/2020 15:34

Might be an old wives tale, but give him lots of bread to eat to cushion it on the way through....

Ninkanink · 16/05/2020 15:35

He’ll be fine, and you will not have to search through his poo.

HoppingPavlova · 16/05/2020 15:35

No, won’t hurt his gut at all. Also, sifting through his poo is completely unnecessary. Chill.

Naaamechangedofcourse · 16/05/2020 15:36

A tree is going to grow in him!!! Quick ring 999!!!!

Ninkanink · 16/05/2020 15:39

Don’t give him lots of bread, he’ll just get bunged up and quite possibly become constipated.

If you’ve got a ripe banana (as in actually, properly ripe, not green or hard or starchy as that can also contribute to constipation) then he could have some of that to aid his digestion and bowels, but really you don’t have to do anything.

PotholeParadise · 16/05/2020 15:46

No sifting needed. You're thinking of advice for objects that you want back (!) or objects that are dangerous in the stomach.

As a one-off, a plum stone isn't dangerous once swallowed. Make sure he doesn't do it again, as

  1. it's a choking risk, and;
  2. plum stones contain a teeny tiny amount of cyanide. One plum stone will do absolutely nothing to him, but several might.

Do not panic about this one. Just make sure he doesn't swallow multiple stones.
