And the “if it disnae stuck in yer throat, it'll no stick in yer erse” comment just made my day 😂
It is great that one can count on netmums for reassurance and some cheering up too!

If you see little branches growing from his ears in a few months you will know it hasn't gone through.

As everyone has said, it will pass through.

Ask surgery if lactulose might help it on its way.

Neverendingdust · 22/03/2022 09:31

@TheProvincialLady

Worst case scenario is that he has to poo a sapling plum tree.
😂

He’ll be fine. My brother ate a screw once when he was a baby and it came out in his nappy Smile

SartresSoul · 22/03/2022 09:54

He’ll poo it out. My 3 year old swallowed one last year.

incognitoforthisone · 22/03/2022 10:07

It's fine. It'll come out the other end, no bother. It's only a plum stone; it's not toxic or corrosive or anything and it won't 'block' anything. Presumably you've seen the size of your kid's turds; if he can pass one of those with no bother he's not going to get 'blocked' by something as small as the stone of a plum.

@cultkid

Urgh am I going to have to sift through his poo
Why would you have to do that, it’s a plum stone not a diamond ring.

🧟‍♀️

Having, some time ago, spent several weeks washing and sifting fresh (non-human) poo to retrieve seeds of various species and sizes to examine under an electron microscope I'm confident that most people would be surprised the extent to which that the mammalian digestive system can breakdown and soften the hard seed coats of drupes.
