To keep my "thin" clothes or accept that I'll never wear my Levi's again?

Hi all. I used to weigh 10st a few years ago after successfully slimming down from 16st. I'm 5ft8. Over the last year through working, life etc I've gained 3st back. I've been sorting through my wardrobe over the last few weeks and came across my "thin clothes". Once I'd slimmed down, I bought lots of designer jeans such as Levi's, Diesel and 7 For All Mankind in a 28 waist. I recently tried them on and I cant get them past my thighs. I absoloutely love my Levi's 501 and I don't want to part with them or any of my "thin clothes".

I love eating and would love some advice on whether to keep or bin/sell my thin clothes. I did calorie counting to lose the weight last time, but I can't seem to get motivated. Also, once I lose the weight, how do I make sure I don't gain it back? Do any of you weigh regular? If your jeans get tight, do you cut back until they fit?

As its lockdown, I want to try and slim back down. Any help, tips or ideas are welcome. Thanks

lou967 - I desperately want to keep my weight under control as well. I was slim in 2010 - under 8 and a half stone ! - I wish I could go back to 2010 - remain at that weight and a size 8 and start over!

lou967 · 17/05/2020 10:19

@Settle59 wow 8 1/2 stone. I was 10 stone 18months ago. I'm not regaining anymore. I'm hoping to keep it off too. You can do it. Think of your 501's when you feel like giving up. I've hung mine on my wardrobe. When I want to snack or eat something not healthy I go and look at them. Thinking of how I'll feel when they fit again. I can't wait to button them up without breathing in. And having no overhang.

That's a very good incentive lou967 - I weighed this morning and 11st 2! It's good considering I started this year at 13st 6! I'm now at a point where my size 16 trousers feel loose on me and I'd probably fit into a 14 - however I tried my size 10 trousers on yesterday and they're still nowhere near! - BUT - they are coming further up my thighs than was the case a month ago!!

@Settle59 you are doing amazing. Whatever you are doing, keep it up. You're well on your way to target. It's a lovely feeling fitting into smaller clothes.

I've taken some pictures of my jeans. I'm going to look at them everytime I want to eat something unhealthy.

I'm with you OP, got about 3 stone to loose. I've set the goal of being back in a size 10 by September, doesn't have to be all the weight, I've not been 10st for 4 years but size is important.

Remember that exercise will tone your body which will make it easier to get into your Levi's, it's not just about the numbers on the scale. I'm not good at calorie counting but I'm making better food choices, working out at home and running again.

@Bobbiepin I've started a thread on calorie counting section. Check it out. More than welcome to join. Yes I agree exercise is good for toning. :) sometimes people can weigh more but still fit into their dream size. I'm not getting too worried about the number on the scales.

Here are some more Levi's that I want to fit into.

These are 473 skinny fit jeans.
