Lockdown Lookalike - the awful realisation......

Lockdown can be tough. I am homeschooling and am finding it hard. But after my shower this morning I looked into the mirror and the realisation hit me. I looked like the Welsh King's brother in 'The Last Kingdom'! He is not a pretty man - straggly hair, a bit fat and quite wrinkly. I was really shocked to see him staring back at me!!! Who do you look like since lockdown?

My hairdresser will be glad to see me when lockdown ends. Almost as glad as I will be to see her. IF I can see her through this lot!

This has given me the best laugh I've had in ages. I fear that I'm beginning to look like DCI/DS Roberta Steel (fans of Stuart McBride's books will know who I mean) but without the fags. The accent will be bang on too.

Honestly, I have aged at least 10 years during lockdown. I look appalling haggard. And can't even be bothered to cover up my haggardness with make-up.

I was FaceTiming my son and realised I look just like Jabba the Hutt but with unruly hair. Not my best look.

Oh thank goodness there is other people, I woke up the other day and thought I had mascara rubbed under my eyes... it’s just severe dark circles.. they didn’t wash off..

@zukiecat I don't look like Aethelflaed sadly. I did in my head until I saw my reflection.... ☹️ now I realise I look like a scruffy, fat, middle aged man!!! I'm nearly 50 and I fear I look way older. Definitely more haggard. Except in my 'thin' mirror. I love that mirror. Only I know it's not real as on FaceTime I look truly dreadful and have to spend 20 mins before getting the lighting right so I don't look like an old ugly stranger. 😂

I was actually just wondering if it was normal to look that bad in the mirror first thing! Thanks for the reassurance 😂

I don’t know what clothes fit anymore as everything’s got very ‘comfy’. The hair is dry and crispy. The wrinkles deeply set.

I'm not ready to embrace it either.... I have whiskers on my chin, man hair up my nose and dark circles under my eyes with a red outline. ☹️😂

I’ve spent the last half hour trying to find an photo of an album cover that pops into my head when I look in the mirror.

It’s a head and shoulders portrait of a ginger caveman. I thought it was Talking Heads, but it seems not. It’s driving me mad.

If anyone knows the one I mean, I look like that.

I however, look like me - I am ridiculously proud of cutting my own hair at the weekend, and it looks fine, three people stopped me in the supermarket to say it looked nice.

For some reason, clippers were easy - trimming longer bits with scissors in the mirror was HARD, I couldn't co-ordinate which way to move my hands to get to the bit of hair I wanted to cut, It was very strange!
