Just that really. Either a totally off topic question, a hilarious response or just something that made you laugh.

For me it was someone who had posted about her office chair frequently appearing damp and smelling of pee and someone just responded “woah we’re halfway there”.

My favourite was on a thread about clapping for Boris when he was in hospital. Someone replied with something like "clapping won't make him better, he's not a fucking pixie" really tickled me?

missmouse101 · 03/05/2020 17:42

The tower of cheese wedding cake one, where it had been started early by guests who didn't realise it was THE ACTUAL WEDDING CAKE. The cheese related puns afterwards were truly fabulous. @TruffleShuffles, the car sweets one was my post and it was most definitely genuine (and awful at the time!)

Can anyone remember the one from the pregnant poster who was going on and on and on about her ‘unique’ baby name that she had made up and how she was worried that it was a bit too ‘unique’ and people would be really really taken aback by this name...and it was Freya (I think). And when people explained that it wasn’t unique, was actually popular and she hadn’t made it up herself she was having none of it.

And the thread where someone posted that they were in a wooden, remote ski lodge on holiday and the OP was worried that there was someone outside, trying to get in and she had heard a scream in the woods? The thread was a mix of people saying you must go out there, there could be someone alive needing help and others saying ‘just stay in the lodge and barricade yourself in’ and a poster came on in the middle of the thread and asked if the OP had a corkscrew Grin like that was the OP’s biggest concern.

VirginWestCoast · 03/05/2020 17:45

One a little while ago on "What do you like about your OH?"

Mostly forearms, parallel parking, good with kids etc.
One poster wrote something quite mundane but concluded with:
"- and he's got a dick like a baby's arm!"

Echobelly · 03/05/2020 17:46

In a chat about husbands moaning excessively when ill somone's post about her DH having a 'scarf of certain death' he only wore when he had a cold made me chortle for days.

Pelleas · 03/05/2020 17:49

This thread was hilarious - OP had moral concerns about her children attending a pirate-themed party. After the OP's reservations had been met with disbelief, the thread rapidly descended into ever-more surreal pirate jokes.

notsodimwit · 03/05/2020 17:49

I still giggle at the poster who said' put the wine down and get to bed Sharon!' to the OP Grin.cant remember what the post was about but made me laugh! Grin

TattiePants · 03/05/2020 17:51

UCM's name change fail always gets quoted but Bups and her name change fail and her French vagine typo and the resulting comments had me crying.

BalloonSlayer · 03/05/2020 17:52

My fave was one where a poster said she spent 15 minutes a day plucking her eyebrows.

Someone asked "Blimey, are you Liam Gallagher?"

steggybigback · 03/05/2020 17:55

Not sure if its been mentioned already but the.....

If I'm not getting any dick, neither are you missy

In response to her adult daughters constant requests for her boyfriend to come over during lockdown. Had me howling with laughter!

Osquito · 03/05/2020 17:55

Reading this and thinking “YES that one too!”
After washing-out-at-night, I started telling DP not to “because the spiders rub their willies on it” and every time he looks at me like I’m a right dickhead but will I stop? Never.

missmouse101 · 03/05/2020 18:02

There was a very funny one about Lim Gallagher not feeling the benefit since he always had a parka on. Grin

EastBoundAndDown · 03/05/2020 18:13

A few weeks ago there was a thread about the Clap for NHS Carers , and the poster said something like " when I run upstairs with no bra on my boobs make a clapping sound, does that count?"
I pissed myself 😂

HowFurloughCanYouGo · 03/05/2020 18:21

This was years ago and it might not be funny to anyone else but I genuinely howled with laughter. But I do laugh at stupid things, and not often the usual stuff on MM.

OP - I think DD has worms but how do I find out for sure.

Poster 1 - Well they wriggle out at night so maybe have a look with a torch?

Poster 2 - Well it depends how old she is, if she's 14 I wouldn't advise the above....

maria860 · 03/05/2020 18:22

Thanks for this thread I'm laughing out loud at some of these 😂

Mammatino · 03/05/2020 18:36

Current thread treading now, AIBU neighbour yelling “balls across”, which is funny in itself, the Nis concerned for the neighbours wellbeing. First post, could the neighbours cat or dog be called Balzac. I am in stitches. Ace thread OP.

Mammatino · 03/05/2020 18:36

Sorry “ballsack”

helpfulperson · 03/05/2020 18:38

There was a thread a while back where the OP typed a word wrong and you couldn't work out what it was meant to be. The thread was something like 'what do I do with xxx' and there was a couple of pages of bizarre Mickey taking suggestions before she came back.

Fluffiest · 03/05/2020 18:42

It was a guess the movie from the emoji thread and one of the clues was

🐶🍝🐶

Clearly the answer was Lady and the Tramp but the poster directly underneath posted:
"dog eat dog" and it really made me laugh. But no one else on the thread even commented on it. I think what I find really funny isn't the same as what everyone else finds funny.

maria860 · 03/05/2020 18:46

@flirtygirl that killed me how funny was that thread 😂😂

showmethegin · 03/05/2020 18:57

I loved one where I think the OP was debating whether she should buy her son a PINK bike and it turned into a debate about gender stereotypes around toys. Someone said "I wouldn't OP, I bought my son a doll and pushchair when he was 4 and now he's a paediatrician. I just don't know where I went wrong"

OytheBumbler · 03/05/2020 18:58

The thread about 'that bastard Ghandi' was funny. I wish I could find it but it must have disappeared.

WiddlinDiddlin · 03/05/2020 18:58

I forget the thread but almost the first response was just..

"Throw the whole husband away."

For some reason that's stuck in my head.

Also the very recent 'Trunky want a bun?' has really tickled me and I cannot wait to get out of my house to use it!

Lucytwosie · 03/05/2020 19:06

The thread about the op not being able to find her ironing board in her flat was absolutely hilarious, loads of funny responses

Arewehere · 03/05/2020 19:08

Lucytwosie

Did she ever find it though?
