AIBU? Neighbours demanding money for McDonald’s

Radishey · 03/05/2020 09:52

We live in quite a small but nice street, mainly detached with decent sized gardens. We have a whatsapp group that the whole street is on, barring one family LOL. But we won’t talk about them.

Anyway, DH is the one who reads the group most often and has now got into a massive fight with the neighbours over a group-buy of McDonalds food next week.

Ooh. Wonder what she was banned for?!

DontTellThemYourNamePike · 03/05/2020 11:19

Noooo ... don't delete this. We need some entertainment during lockdown. And I'm stuck here in my semi detached bungalow!

Don't delete the thread

'I'm lovin' it' Grin

Apologies - we've now clarified in our post that the original poster was a previously banned poster.

We're happy to leave the thread standing if folk would like it to stay.

Sadly though, the original poster @Radishey will no longer be able to participate as we've escorted them off the premises back to their small but nice street (mainly detached with decent sized gardens.)

HeartyGreenSalad · 03/05/2020 11:24

Good god people, what is this dirty talk? Wendy burgers were the best evaaaa

WinterBerry7 · 03/05/2020 11:24

Totally not the point but:

If anyone is missing a McD’s breakfast John Torode has done an amazing McMuffin recipe.

Thighmageddon · 03/05/2020 11:24

How do we find out which branches are opening, asking for a friend I need to know

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/05/2020 11:25

Just dont burn the tea towel lol

Carolduckingbaskin · 03/05/2020 11:25

@WinterBerry7 is that the one that includes the flaming tea towel Grin

FlowerArranger · 03/05/2020 11:25

What I am taking away from this thread is that McDonald's have apparently stopped doing Cadbury's Milk McFlurry.

I am gutted. GUTTED.

I havent set foot inside a McDonald's for years, but somehow it was always comforting to know that there'd be a Cadbury's Milk McFlurry for me, if I ever wanted one.

GUTTED

Ellie56 · 03/05/2020 11:25

Wow 10 pages and we never got to find out what the problem was with the McDonalds, why there was a massive fight, and most importantly, why one family was barred from the Whatsapp group.

Ticklemeelmo · 03/05/2020 11:26

1/10 for effort in making a goady thread, OP.

@Carolduckingbaskin yes! But I didn’t watch it live just saw the recipe and thought I might give it a bash!

I live in a two bed flat in a not great area so I don’t have the elusive McDonalds visa. DIY is my only option Sad

Carolduckingbaskin · 03/05/2020 11:28

@WinterBerry7 Tesco also do sausage patties which taste exactly the same as the McDonalds ones! No burning of a tea towel required!

RedAzalea · 03/05/2020 11:29

The op will still be viewing the thread though

Bet she’s fuming!!

Hi 👋

vodkaredbullgirl · 03/05/2020 11:29

Suppose I better go to bed and dream of Macdonalds big mac.

WhereYouLeftIt · 03/05/2020 11:35

"Firstly, thanks for all the sarcastic replies. If you don’t have anything nice to say, then do not say it.

I’m proud of what we have and we have worked very hard to be where we are now. YES it’s a detached house and YES it wasn’t far off seven figures, but that’s the area we live in and we have worked hard for it. Not that it has anything to do with any of you anyway!"

Did anyone else 'hear' this second missive from the OP spoken in a Harry Enfield's 'considerably richer than YOW' voice? Grin

EmpressLangClegInChair · 03/05/2020 11:36

Nah, it’s Leon all the way for me. They have a choice of really tasty veggie / vegan burgers and their jackfruit wings with the aioli dip are heaven.

But then I’m in a flat, not a detached house with a decent garden.

Bouledeneige · 03/05/2020 11:37

So this has been very illuminating.

Someone who was previously banned lives in a nice house. I'd love to know what she was banned for.

More importantly despite living a very nice area with extremely expensive houses I am in a terrrace, have no downstairs toilet or ensuite and have not been invited to join a street WhatsApp group. So feel a bit gutted now.

But on the plus side I've just discovered Maccy D's might be re-opening. We love a Maccy Ds every now and again. In between pretending to be vegan. Mind you a nearby KFC drive in had queues around the block yesterday and prevented us getting into B&Q before it closed. These are complicated times. Hungry now.

BigSandyBalls2015 · 03/05/2020 11:41

Bit early to be on the gin OP but we won’t judge in these lock down times ...

WhereYouLeftIt · 03/05/2020 11:48

Ooh, the thread moved on quite a bit between me downloading it and actually reading it ...

Taddda · 03/05/2020 11:51

One good thing, I now know that Wimpy still exists...knife and fork at the ready awaiting a bendy....👍

Carolduckingbaskin · 03/05/2020 11:53

@taddaa just get ready for the extortionate pricing- we ordered a wimpy delivery - almost £30 for just two of us!!
