What is the correct term for circular square sausage?

Also - what difference does the shape of it make?

I prefer the circular kind although the rectangular kind is acceptable, too.

Also these are not a myth, we sometimes had them when I was young..

I have never seen a round version of a square sausage before, it's all square around here. But having googled it and seeing it's existence (!) i have thought about it and I reckon i'd just refer to that as a square sausage too, even though it is round

Lorne or square.

I have just had a look at my latest receipt.

It says "round slice" so that seems to be the answer.

Before we were all in lockdown I asked the butcher what the difference was between his square sausage and the circular one.

He said it was the same recipe - just different shapes.

Pointless trivia. I like musing about unimportant stuff.
