Dawn Butler on Good Morning TV saying babies are born without a sex, has the world gone mad!

It's a strange world we are living in that in the same week two individuals in politics have claimed black people have intrinsically lower IQs and that humans are born without biological sex.

WickedCrown · 19/02/2020 18:44

It's a shitshow really, given how bad the governing party are - yet Labour seem determined to make themselves unelectable.

YouTheCat · 19/02/2020 18:45

Do you think this is Labour policy or merely the views of one person? Hmm

Gin96 · 19/02/2020 18:52

I think Labour are tying itself in knots trying to explain what a woman is:

From Labour UK website:

The Labour Party’s All Women Shortlists are open to all women, including self-identifying trans women. Similarly, women’s officers and minimum quotas for women in the Labour Party are open to all women, including self-identifying trans women.

YouTheCat · 19/02/2020 18:54

I don't have a problem with any of that.

Lordamighty · 19/02/2020 18:55

Says it all really.

IT seems she said that babies are formed without sex by which I presume she means a foetus doesn;t develop sexual organs until after a few weeks, when hormones come into play. I think that is what she was trying to say.
Then she seemed to (un) correct herslef and say 'born' rather than formed. So i think she was just being a bit muddled. I imagine that is partly due to the fact that Richard madeley is a shit interviewer who just harnagues peiple and doesn't allow them to finish a sentence before he interrupts to repeat the thing he has just said, not allowing people to answer. he is horrendous.
There can never be any kind of sensible discussion on these topics if the approach is aggressive, and people aren't allowed to explain their views properly with being shouted over. But that's telly for you. You get people like Madeley and Piers Morgan - hideous individuals who in many spheres would be considered unemployable - given prime time slots.

Gin96 · 19/02/2020 19:20

@Lordamighty wow shocking. How can you vote for a party that can’t tell the difference between a man or woman. The world has gone mad.

OP posts:
Gin96 · 19/02/2020 19:22

Well i’m 100% YANBU, that’s a relief or I would think I am the one going round the bend 😂

Sad How depressing.

I really massively hesitated on voting this time but reluctantly opted for labour in the end.

I don’t think I’ll be voting next time though.
They are all equally awful in different ways.

Lordamighty · 19/02/2020 19:28

Lisa Nandy is the biggest disappointment for me as, until recently, I thought she was the best candidate.

ClutterbuckFarm · 19/02/2020 19:31

I’m guessing that 90%+ of Labour’s target voters literally couldn’t care less about identity politics, but do think that politicians who talk this type of shit are not going to get their vote.

Gin96 · 19/02/2020 19:36

@Clutterbuckfarm completely agree, I’m not that interested in the Trans argument but when MPs talk utter shite and can’t tell the difference between men and women, then I start thinking there’s a problem. Whether you like it or not a man can’t just he’s a woman because he feels like it on Monday, it’s ridiculous.

HeresMe · 19/02/2020 19:38

That's labours problem that there party members lobbyists ect are into this stuff, but the people who actually vote in a election really think they have much more important things to be doing.

WhereShallWeMoveTo · 19/02/2020 19:38

The Labour Party’s All Women Shortlists are open to all women, including self-identifying trans women. Similarly, women’s officers and minimum quotas for women in the Labour Party are open to all women, including self-identifying trans women.

Political correctness and positive discrimination has finally eaten itself.

Campervan69 · 19/02/2020 19:40

I'm getting people who have never been interested in this gender identity debate before contacting me privately on Facebook (because I've been quite open about my views) to say how mad it all is

Labour seem to have well and truly lost the plot and rather than reflecting on why they lost the election so badly seem to be doubling down and alienating yet more voters

WhereShallWeMoveTo · 19/02/2020 19:46

I agree. But I vote Tory so the more unelectable they are the better as far as I am concerned. I can watch it like a weird form of entertainment from a safe distance for me.

Campervan69 · 19/02/2020 19:50

I do know quite a few people who voted Tory rather than labour this time because they felt they were so removed from reality. And I do know a lot of people who always vote for the Tories who think it's hilarious & call it the left eating itself.

Winesalot · 19/02/2020 20:07

It is a very concerning though when Lisa Nandy also comes out with that a male bodied transwoman who has raped children should be able to go to a female prison and share space with women.

How can this ever be seen as safe?

Gin96 · 19/02/2020 20:18

@Winesalot I agree, what sane human being would think that was a good idea Hmm

Tory central office is busy today.

ScreamingLadySutch · 19/02/2020 20:20

The railing and the raging of the far left has got to be pushed back against. WTF do they think they are? Their ad hominem slurs is abuse; is bullying.

The Conservative government needs to give them something to screech about.

Toby Young be appointed to a major educational position.
Andrew Roberts to be head of a college in Cambridge.
Barnaby Lenon to dismantle Suzy Leather's quango and take on the grip the left have over schools.
A conservative in charge of the National Trust. Sack the lot of them with their sustainability and diversity obsessions.
Same with RSPCA, RSPB.
BBC to be required to advertise in The Telegraph only. With losing their public funding if they do not change, as a big stick hanging over them. (I don't actually want the BBC to be dismantled).

Their screeching and frothing is irrelevant. They are irrelevant. They are ignorant and seem to think feeling means thinking is no longer required. Fuckem. When we had the Brexit argument I could not believe how ignorant remainers are. After they discovered their disdain and contempt did not work .... they had very few facts to back up their arguments and eventually went silent. We cannot have such ignorance and self regard having such influence. Hollow, shallow destructive people.

Until then - irrelevant. When they get a stonking majority, they will be representing the people.

1984isnow · 19/02/2020 20:24

🤦‍♀️

frumpety · 19/02/2020 20:28

It doesn't really matter what Labour do in the next 4 years, the Conservatives have a stonking majority, so large they can do as they please for the next 4 years without censure. They alone are responsible.

shinyredbus · 19/02/2020 20:29

They just want to make sure they are the most unelectable party ever that’s all. 🤷🏻‍♀️
