What has happened to crisps???

I went to enjoy a pack of salt and vinegar Mccoys today, remembering the strong tongue-tingling sensation they left my tongue - filled with flavour and exciting, however, today this was not the case - I've tried a couple of packs and all of them have less flavour than I remember??? Is this trying to reduce calories or keeping the cost down?? I don't know but I'm not impressed. Would love to hear others opinions xxx

And Pringles. Not only do they not taste the same but you don’t get that lovely snap any more when you bite into them.

Beef monster munch taste nothing like they used to.

I just ate a packet of beef hula hoops and they were painfully salty... maybe you guys would like them?

I only eat quavers these days, crisps are too disappointing.

Try the Lidl salt and vingegar. Really delicious and sharp.

Seabrook for salt and vinegar for me. McCoy's are good for steak or cheese n onion but never any good at salt and vinegar.

Another one for the co-op sea salt and chardonnay vinegar ones here. Its a disaster for my diet when they are one 2 for £2!

YANBU OP, loads of crisps have less flavour now.

They are really hard to find round my way, but if you can get hold of a packet of Golden Wonder salt and vinegar crisps, they'll still take a few layers of cells off your tongue and lips

Some of the 'new, improved' flavours are absolutely vile. I'm sure there's something in the reduced salt theory too. Have manufacturers changed the method of adding flavour in recent years? Some crisp packets seem to contain no flavour whatsoever, and I have to add a sprinkle of salt to work my way through the packet. But on one occasion I had a ruddy great lump of pure flavouring, like a misshapen stock cube for crisps.

Walkers crisps have all the crispness of confetti nowadays.

I used to loooove Walkers crisps that came with the little salt bag and you shook them up. Great memories. Back in the 90s.

I bought a packet of Squares recently and they were horrible - the crisps are much smaller and also very very thin! 😮 Yuk. Quality seems to be vanishing all over the place in terms of food these days...

YANBU I'm fuming about the state of crisps these days. They used to be my favourite but don't bother anymore.

Bacon Fries - off a cardboard sheet in the pub are still bloomin fantastic. Scampi ones less so...

@igotdemons squares used to be one of my favourites but they’re disgusting now, they’re like little sharp bits of plastic. So hard and thin, weird taste and no flavour!

Kettles salt and vinegar are still pretty strong.
