To think Naked Attraction is just a really weird programme?

I’m extremely late to the party I know but I've just watched a few episodes.

Just....wtf?! The last 2, they’ve spread food on the contestant’s bodies and have been licking it off, gross.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s entertaining all right and I’m no prude but I just cannot imagine wanting the whole nation to see me naked and hear me talking openly about what I’ve done in bed/ what I’d like to do in bed etc and then see Kathy from no 35 down the village shop the week after. I’d just die.

I just find it so strange that it’s almost not believable (I know it is real) surely if you wanted to go on a tv dating show first dates or something would be a bit less embarrassing?!

AIBU to find it just....weird? Has anyone from here been on it?

Agree OP. My eyes were out on stalks when I first stumbled across it - and not with lust :o I just couldn't believe it's an actual programme! I've now seen it a few times and still can't get my head round it - how they agreed to make it, how they get people to go on it! Also agree with a PP that there have definitely been some contestants who shouldn't have been there because they did seem vulnerable.

BUT I will say that despite the endless pimply plucked chicken bits on display, it does fascinate me to see what people's bodies really look like and it does make me feel more confident in myself. It's not just about weight, it's body shapes, stances and types - all so different and it makes you realise how narrow the "model" body is that we always see in ads. Even ads that feature a range of weights will still have models that have particular proportions and poses.

And sometimes the picker will like someone that I've realised I think looks "odd" because they don't fit that stereotype. It really makes me think.

However I haven't watched it recently and I don't like the sound of the cream licking etc.

Tbh, all of my family, friends and colleagues could have been on the show and I wouldn't know about it. I can't imagine it gets huge viewing figures. If you were that desperate to see a flaccid cock or a pair of tits, Google could sort you out, and with a lot more variety than Naked Attraction offers, too. What sort of perv would have to rely on this show for their jollies?

I think if anyone is watching it for jollies that's very weird indeed - I don't think that can really be why people watch it. I think it's more just horrified fascination and nosiness (speaking for myself :o)

Oh yes, I agree - I was just responding to some of the earlier comments that it was mainly pervs who were watching. The couple of occasions I saw it, it was about the fascination to see real bodies that haven't been primped or airbrushed for porn or advertising purposes. I was disappointed by the lack of diversity myself, as the participants were all white and thin, and it did nothing to dispel the idea that perfect bodies are the only ones that are worth having sex with. But as pp have said, even technically "good" bodies don't look sexually appealing when all you can see of them is their bereft-of-hair genital regions...

I've never watched it, the very concept makes me feel sick.

I've definitely seen people who aren't slim, and a lot who aren't white - but come to think of it, mainly non-white men, not women.

Eww. Did the boyfriend have some sort of cuckolding thing going on? I would say it was very unfair on the "picker" to be made part of that, if I thought anybody was really there to find a genuine relationship. As it is... it merely adds to the general feeling of unwholesomeness.
