To want to hack my own anus off? (Piles.... TMI)

Name changed for this to something more apt.

After the birth of my DD (5) I’ve had what I would call very mild piles ever since.

But recently had a miscarriage (at 11 weeks) and for some reason they have been terrible ever since. I am in virtual agony with them. Anusol is doing chuff all.

I’ve searched loads of threads on here and time and time again Scheriproct ointment comes up. I decided to buy some from online pharmacy.

Did the purchase, all good, on the actual site the photo of the product was a tube of ointment.

In my confirmation email it says it’s 12 suppositories!!!

Will they still work????

Off for a warm bath to ease the pain in MY ACTUAL ASS

Well I’ve ordered the ointment anyway because I’m desperate!!!

I found suppositories more effective for the internal ones. Also over the counter germoloids ointment works better for me because it has lidocaine for analgesia with anusol suppositories. The steroid suppositories will help shrink them in the short term. If they are really bad see your GP for paracetamol suppositories so that the pain relief gets to the local area better. Also take ibuprofen for the inflammation as it helps take the edge off. Make sure you take a stool softener/laxative and drink loads of water as constipation will just make them worse.

Piles are a bitch.

PaddingtonBearHardStare · 27/01/2020 17:10

OP I feel your pain literally. I had them so bad after DS was born, 6 completely surrounding my anus. I actually took a photo as I wanted to see how bad it was and had to delete it as it made me feel physically sick

The thing I found best was a sitz bath. You can get them on Amazon. It's basically a bowl you sit over your toilet and put water in so you get the relief of a bath but without having to get one all the time as sometimes that's not feasible

Also preparation H wipes for using instead of toilet roll when you've had a bowel movement

MaggieAndHopey · 27/01/2020 17:16

You poor thing. No advice, just sympathy. Hope they fuck off soon. x

Knobblybobbly · 27/01/2020 17:16

I know it seems a bit dramatic but I could have cried with the pain today!! It’s so bloody distracting. I put on a good show but actually barely got any work done today in the office.

The ointment and suppositories should arrive tomorrow. It has cost me an arm and a leg but honestly, I can’t wait 2 weeks to see the GP in order to get them.

I’ve heard this sheriproct stuff is the next step up from anusol, which ive been using for 2 weeks. I saw the wipes in the shop today, wish I’d grabbed them now!!

Paracetamol and ibuprofen just aren’t touching it. Bath hopefully will. Or maybe some kind of anal plug of ice???

Thank you for the sympathy and kind words. I’ve always felt a bit smug that the occasional small pile I’ve had in the past has cleared up on its own with barely enough symptoms to notice.

So this must be arse-karma.

YADNBU. Been there, it's bloody awful. The ice plug is a good idea, good luck!

obliquesqueak · 27/01/2020 17:23

Yes they’ll work, scheriproct is the holy grail for piles. I had 5 thrombosed piles post dc2 and it was the worst part of anything I went through with either of them!

Ice, ice really helps too. Shrinks it all.

And stay away from potato and root veg

NorthernNic · 27/01/2020 17:24

AIBU for wanting to swop stories??? I had one that got twisted and then burst when I was 8 months pregnant. That was a pretty tough week I can tell you Grin

Knobblybobbly · 27/01/2020 17:24

I feel like there should be some kind of telephone support line for pikes sufferers

OP posts:
TheQueef · 27/01/2020 17:24

Trust me.
Go and see the doc, get the strongest treatment, don't let the fuckers grow Sad

Knobblybobbly · 27/01/2020 17:25

Oh christ @NorthernNic !! Did it feel better after it burst? I kind of feel like that would help?!

OP posts:
VanGoghsDog · 27/01/2020 17:27

Make sure it's not anal fissures, I have those and cream etc for piles soothes it a bit but will never fix it.

The doc gave me something which has worked wonders and made me cross I had never gone before.

To avoid using wipes I use an anti bacterial bottom cleaning gel which you squirt on loo roll. It's really soothing and far less environmental impact.

NorthernNic · 27/01/2020 17:28

Yes it did. There was hell of a sharp pain, bit of blood and then sweet relief!

Knobblybobbly · 27/01/2020 17:28

@TheQueef I’m too scared to bend over a mirror and see that state they’re in!!!!

OP posts:
obliquesqueak · 27/01/2020 17:29

@northernNic twisted and burst?

They are so painful and so humiliating and mumsnet is about the only place you can talk about it!

It’s probably the thing that put me off a dc3 conclusively!

NorthernNic · 27/01/2020 17:29

Yep, fissures, been there and got the t-shirt for them too. Like shitting glass. I feel it bragging, I'll stop now Grin

NorthernNic · 27/01/2020 17:30

*I'm

nocluewhattodoo · 27/01/2020 17:30

I've been plagued by them since having DD, it's rubbish, you have my sympathies OP. I hope something works for you. Mine always seem to appear at the worst time - I had a special holiday for my birthday a few years ago and couldn't do anything other than lie on my side in bed they were so bad.

OnoAnotherNC · 27/01/2020 17:32

No practical advice but lots of sympathy

bornonasunday · 27/01/2020 17:32

Ooooh, I also feel your pain!! Had a particularly nasty ‘episode’ many years ago, that co-incided with having to go to a wedding☹️ After spending all bloody day standing up (and sitting was even more agony) I was in tears of pain that night. They were bleeding at this stage.
Spent the entire next day lying in my side with a bag of frozen peas on the affected area!
I found internal suppositories worked the best if you can bear them.
Sending much sympathy💐

Knobblybobbly · 27/01/2020 17:33

Strangely comforting to hear I’m not the only person with a bunch of grapes hanging out of my bum hole!!!

Thank you

OP posts:
Knobblybobbly · 27/01/2020 17:35

@bornonasunday

I’m not into anal play AT ALL but quite honestly, if someone told me it would help I would shove a cucumber up there!!!

TheQueef · 27/01/2020 17:36

I don't want to win the thread or owt Nic but....
I left mine otc treatment.....many years later STAPLED HAEMORROIDECTOMY! it hurts as bad as it sounds Sad
Salt bath, go to the docs, good luck Smile

RubysRoo · 27/01/2020 17:37

@Knobblybobbly I feel awful for you. A dear friend had them terribly after birth of both children and had surgery to remove them in the end. Please phone GP and get emergency appt. You shouldn't have to suffer like this. Hoping the suppositories and ointment helps.
