To think it’s unhygienic to change bedding every six weeks?

Had this discussion with SiL. She insists we can do it fortnightly because we only have one DC (they have three), and it’s too much effort to do it more often with so many beds to change. Pillowcases do get changed weekly. She’s obsessive about cleanliness in most other domestic areas so it’s quite surprising to me...

If for some reason i can't get to DH/my sheets in a week, I change our pillowcases so at least we are not sleeping on old face sweat and drool

It's your own sweat and drool. It won't kill you.
Weird how so many people are terrified of their own body fluids! I've never heard of a death certificate stating cause of death by bedding not washed weekly.

If you like newly washed bed linen....that's great but don't claim that it's necessary or that those of us who don't see the need to change it so often are minging or unhealthy.

I don't think they'll be that dirty if they're getting into bed clean tbh. That said I do wash my own a lot more frequently. 3DC but can have them all done in a day. Wouldn't be possible without a tumble dryer though.

I do mine every 6 minutes , which is not as often as I'd like...
That's disgusting.
I keep mine on a constant wash, dry cycle.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 26/12/2019 20:58

I sleep inside the washing machine, just to be sure.

I bet there is a correlation with frequent bed changing and being as thick as a short plank.

Quite right too, Voice, you tell 'em.

Interesting because I bet there's a correlation between frequent bed changes and how tight someone's arshole is puckered.

I change mine every day. Can’t abide a dirty sheet. Change towels daily too. Cleanliness is next to godliness.

... then back in the real world.

If you wanted to be really clean, you'd buy a new house every week.

Bluerussian · 27/12/2019 00:51

Good point JamieVardy, I know if I had a puncture I'd buy a new car straight away - wouldn't most of us?

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 27/12/2019 02:51

If you can't stretch to a new house, what about a new washing machine, and a new coat of paint in the bedroom each day?

Actually, that doesn't work as mickey-taking because someone once linked on here to a documentary or something (youtube channel?) about a woman who did repaint her house every week to keep it looking clean.

WanderingTrolley1 · 27/12/2019 03:39

Missteebeee · 27/12/2019 08:17
