Happy Impeachment! Next step is removal. (Trump thread 98)

In the last thread, Trump was impeached by Congress. Now the question is when the articles will be sent to the Senate for Trial, as - at this stage - there is no guarantee from Mitch McConnell of a fair trial. Trump clings to his belief that his call to Zelensky was “perfect”.

So, he's supposed to be 'addressing the nation' at 11 am EST. I don't know if I can handle hearing his voice, it just gives me the rage. I expect I'll be putting it on mute and closed captioning.

If I can even stand to see his orange face, that is. Supposedly Pence was going to be the 'mouthpiece' but I expect this means that Scrotus has been drugged into submission agreed to use a scripted speech. Hopefully without his favourite adjectives: powerful, biggest, best, smartest, and all that other bullshit.

cozietoesie · 08/01/2020 15:38

You have to handle it, I fear. For us.

"Once more unto the breach, Dear friends....
...Now set the teeth and stretch the nostril wide,
Hold hard the breath and bend up every spirit
To his full height."

Roussette · 08/01/2020 16:37

Good grief. There's something strange about him. I can hear continual sniffing and something has gone very wrong with the spray tan. Looks like he has orange blusher on. And he's stumbling over some words.

He's going to ask NATO to get involved. That'll go down well, not.

AcrossthePond55 · 08/01/2020 16:39

"As long as I'm president Iran will not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon". Thinks highly of himself, no? Not that I want them to have one, of course.

Other than that......yakkitty, schmackkitty, blah, blah.

"Powerful sanctions" blah blah. We gave them cash, they weren't sufficiently 'grateful'. The attacks are Obama's fault (yes, he really said that). All countries must abandon the JCPOA.

Blah blah blah, the economy, the US military, Al-Baghdadi, the 'death' of Isis, I'm great and responsible for it all.

It's obvious that this is a pre-written speech that he's 'improved'.

And that's it.

And since I posted a quote from the Bard in order to gird my loins to listen to him, I'll end with one.

"All sound and fury, signifying nothing"

lionheart · 08/01/2020 16:40

This won't make lighten the gloom.

Weird mangling of words...

Super sonic missiles = hyper sonic missiles
tolerated = tolerided
accomplishments = accompliments

And the sniffing was continual. Someone said he had a bruise on his face... could be... I noticed the orange pancake makeup

Lordfrontpaw · 08/01/2020 16:47

‘We gave them cash‘ was that some of the billions seized abroad after the revolution? They also blew a passenger place outbid the air killing 60 children among the passengers... (and he is still banging on about 52 hostages over 40 years ago). Has been never actually wondered ‘why do they hate the US so much?’

Roussette · 08/01/2020 16:55

Exactly Lordfrontpaw Obama must have done a very good job for Trumpy to be so obsessed with him after all these years. Pathetic. Blame Obama for everything is the default position.

RhinoskinhaveI · 08/01/2020 17:08

I tried to watch and listen but it was just too much to bear:(
too revolting, too disturbing

Lordfrontpaw · 08/01/2020 17:10

Is his voice still a bit odd? I’m sure he’s had elocution lessons and had his teeth fixed.

RhinoskinhaveI · 08/01/2020 17:15

I cant imagine that trump would tolerate anyone giving him lessons on anything though?
I find his intonation very unpleasant:(

Lordfrontpaw · 08/01/2020 17:24

It’s the whiney sing-songy draaaaawwwwl and made up words repeated over and over (saying nothing of any substance). Compare it to Obama...

RhinoskinhaveI · 08/01/2020 18:08

yes the sing-song, it seems smug, superior and mocking to me
and on the rallies, he seems to think he's a standup comedy act
it's grotesque :(
compare to Obama
or just anyone with an education and the capacity for self reflection, he's so primitive, so base, but with unlimited self confidence
weird and monstrous:( how is this creature the leader of the free world:(
and his generals all queue up to be thrown under the bus by the dear leader

Lordfrontpaw · 08/01/2020 18:09

How old is he now?

lionheart · 08/01/2020 18:59

73

Lordfrontpaw · 08/01/2020 19:12

Is that all? Or is that ‘Hollywood actress 73’?

lionheart · 08/01/2020 19:18

Aww, was that his youngest kid that said that?

Democrats remain frustrated that the administration hasn't provided much information about the killing of a top Iranian general.

He doesn’t look or sound right.

lionheart · 08/01/2020 22:42

Not good for Trump (or anyone else in the world).
