We’ve only got a Christmas issue!

The Beverly household is at a loggerhead. There will be no turkey should we not resolve this issue, family members will refuse to visit, the children will demand more expensive gifts and and the pigs will surely shed their blankets.

Which baubles shall we decorate our tree with? The classic set or the more modern set?

Please help us avoid a Christmas disaster.

Could you not do both?

Watto1 · 01/12/2019 08:44

Both! The more the merrier!

MyKingdomForBrie · 01/12/2019 08:44

The modern set only because the 'traditional' look absolutely shite. No need to be boring to be traditional. The colours are dull and they look cheap.

Wildorchidz · 01/12/2019 08:45

Use both!
Our tree will be a mish mash of all sorts.

BeverlyLincolnScripts · 01/12/2019 08:47

Can’t do both because we have lots of ‘special’ baubles.

These are like filler baubles if you see what I mean - but they are still important for our Christmas spirit.

MyKingdom would be willing to find better traditional style baubles to avoid a cheap look. It’s more about the colours at the moment.

DH has surprisingly strong feelings on the matter and so do I.

Both, plus all the baubles of yesteryear.

Family trees always look better in random

QuestionableMushroom · 01/12/2019 08:47

Definitely both. And then a few more boxes of baubles. There’s about 150 on our tree. All mish mashed.

AuntieStella · 01/12/2019 08:48

If there really isn't room for all of both, then use half of each.

SuperLoudPoppingAction · 01/12/2019 08:49

From the images you posted, the more modern ones

BeverlyLincolnScripts · 01/12/2019 08:51

Half of each didn’t even occur to us AuntieStella and we’ve been ‘discussing’ this for over a week.

We both love Christmas.

Modern ones

Spied · 01/12/2019 08:55

The modern ones look beautiful

Mrsfs · 01/12/2019 08:56

Definitely the modern baubles

Mumdiva99 · 01/12/2019 08:58

Whichever ones you already have. Make the environmental choice and don't buy any more. (If you already have them then the modern ones are nice)

SandyClawsIsComingToTown · 01/12/2019 08:58

Not keen on either of these examples but if it’s colours you’re considering then red, green and gold trump all others.

KatherineJaneway · 01/12/2019 08:58

Definitely the second picture, the modern ones.

GinNotGym19 · 01/12/2019 08:59

Pigs shedding their blankets tickled me!
I like the ones on the right but if money’s not an issue do half of both

Smelborp · 01/12/2019 09:01

I like the traditional ones. But half of both would work.

MamaGee09 · 01/12/2019 09:02

Our tree sounds like yours, we have family baubles (the children have been given a new Christmas tree decoration since they were young and then I fill the tree with red or gold round baubles so I would go for the plainer more traditional ones.i feel that the family ones then stand out more,

user1493494961 · 01/12/2019 09:02

The ones on the right.

EnglishRose13 · 01/12/2019 09:02

I'm usually a traditional kinda gal, but I absolutely love those pyramid baubles!

GiveHerHellFromUs · 01/12/2019 09:05

I'm normally all for traditional, but I prefer those modern ones.

gottastopeatingchocolate · 01/12/2019 09:07

Time to buy a second tree!!

AnnaMagnani · 01/12/2019 09:11

Normally I would always vote traditional but those are not nice and the modern ones are lovely.
