I did a search on this, and it's been asked before, but quite a while ago (unless I've missed something).

Googling pregnancy symptoms and ‘why is my baby crying so much’. Lead me to the parenting section, then I found AIBU.. And lose several hours of my life to it some days!

AryaStarkWolf · 26/11/2019 13:20

Through a person I was friendly with on another forum, she would often link to threads from here to do with feminism stuff

CuriousaboutSamphire · 26/11/2019 13:20

Came when TES went South.

Came back when I needed something to occupy my brain whilst falling apart after quitting teaching.

Stayed for FWR!

There was a MNHQ thread about it a while ago!

Keepthebloodynoisedown · 26/11/2019 13:21

Saw an article about cancel the cheque on fb. Followed it and found AIBU, then started using the other sections.

supercee · 26/11/2019 13:22

I was googling low carb recipes and it led me to the low carb boot camp page (I think). Then I started taking a look around, despite not being a mum..

Whattodoabout · 26/11/2019 13:22

If memory serves me right, I found the Christmas forum first. I think I was looking for Christmas Eve traditions about 6/7 years ago and stumbled across Mumsnet.!

Whattodoabout · 26/11/2019 13:23
  • exclamation mark entirely accidental.
PumpkinP · 26/11/2019 13:28

I actually don’t remember, probably through googling.

DontMakeMeShushYou · 26/11/2019 13:30

Used to be on a different forum (possibly even more argumentative if such a thing seems possible) and this one used to come up in conversation sometimes. Advanced search tells me that I first posted here in October 2007 (under a different user name) which seems mad! I had no idea I'd been lurking around here so long! Grin

Years ago I saw a mention in a newspaper about a hoo-hah on Mumsnet (something about Moldies?) I came to have a look and never went away.

BobLobLawLLB · 26/11/2019 13:36

On my phone Grin

LolaSmiles · 26/11/2019 13:39

Fertility boards and advice introduced me to MN, then I found the education boards/staff room and thought they were good.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 26/11/2019 14:40

Another one through ‘Cancel the cheque’. I lurked afterwards for a while, but my urge to put my two penneth in was too strong, so I created an account Grin

MashedSpud · 26/11/2019 14:43

Typed something in google and mumsnet came top of the search results.

PandasandRabbit · 26/11/2019 14:43

I was on NMs but they don't have much of a secondary section so moved over.

managinged · 26/11/2019 14:48

I was reading an article in The Guardian and they provided a link to Mumsnet in the article. It was probably one of the family and relationship issues articles that they publish on a regular basis.

moccaicecream · 26/11/2019 14:51

DD1 not developing as expected (later dx of autism and LDs). I googled and stumbled across the SN board. back then much more active than now and it was my life saver!!!

CoolcoolcoolcoolcoolNoDoubt · 26/11/2019 14:53

As others have said, googling a random question seeking advice and Mumsnet being the top link.

AngusThermopyle · 26/11/2019 14:54

I joined under a different email first, around 2004/5 ish looking for information about a particular subject. I forgot about it after a while then joined again 10+ years ago for no particular reason 😁

Fuckenstein · 26/11/2019 14:54

I was on net mums, they were bitching about what a horrible place this was. I came over to look and never went back.

Turt · 26/11/2019 14:55

Daily Mail Blush

TeenPlusTwenties · 26/11/2019 14:56

When AdoptionUK 'improved' screwed up their message boards so I needed somewhere else. I got hooked by MrsDevere 's gymbalow.

MintToBee · 26/11/2019 14:56

Back in 2013 through a link to a funny thread on Facebook. Lurked for ages then created an account. I'm so glad I did as I got my two lovely wedding witnesses on here.

steff13 · 26/11/2019 14:57

I am a member of Ravelry, which is an online fiber arts forum. They have a board where members post crazy threads from other forums and discuss them. A MN thread was linked in one of these threads, and I came to read it and just stayed.
