Sorry for the Meghan Markle thread and DM link, but I have found this really amusing today.

Story out today saying Harry and Meghan apparently aren't spending Xmas with the Queen this year. Lots of comments below blaming Meghan, saying she's isolating Harry from his family, saying the Queen must be really upset. Everyone at work was chatting about it today saying similar.

Am I missing something? I mean we don't even know if it's true. But even if it is, aren't they entitled to spend Xmas as they please? She has her own mother she may want to see.

Ok I get that it's the Queen and it's the usual tradition but is it really a big deal?

I think it’ll be a miracle if MM and H are still together in five years time. I think she’ll get sick of it all and go back to the USA with Archie.

@StoneofDestiny Encyclo
Let's not forget the £15,000 hedge we've all just paid for this year at Kensington Palace, so Kate and William cannot be seen flying in and out by helicopter. That is even before labour installation costs.
This, on top of the £20,000 secret garden for their kids done in 2017.

I HAD forgotten about that, probably because the media didn't bang on about it Ad Nauseum Wink

'I think anything less than 'I'm ashamed of myself for associating with such a person' isn't enough.'

Exactly, I know we should wait to see the whole thing but they keep playing clips. He's just said 'i think I stayed there because I'm an honourable man' implying that he doesn't let his friends down.

What he should say is he liked associating with billionaires and all the privilege that brought. He clearly didn't think the fact Epstein was a sex offender mattered because he's a Royal and thinks he can do as he pleases.

Ibiza2015 · 16/11/2019 17:40

Andrew needs to be under oath in court, not on TV - it just doesn't cut it. Unbelievable privilege this odious being has.

It’s not just him who has privileges. Remember that wife of a US ambassador who knocked over the young man and killed him?

StoneofDestiny · 16/11/2019 17:44

Ibiza2015

Doesn't take away anything from the obscene privilege royals enjoy - and UK and Commonwealth citizens are not paying to 'protect' the woman who killed the young man (she wasn't an Ambassadors wife - and seemingly not entitled to diplomatic immunity anyway)

SarahNade · 16/11/2019 17:53

@MarziPam Harry and Meghan want to be adored

Er, where is the evidence to back this up? They've never said anything that would support that. That is your fictional narrative that you invented.

MarziPam · 16/11/2019 18:08

'Er, where is the evidence to back this up? They've never said anything that would support that. That is your fictional narrative that you invented.'

Oh sorry, H and M supporters have speculated on things previously so I thought it must be ok to.

In my opinion they want adulation They want to be seen as saviours and want fame, they just cannot cope with criticism. The list of why they're taken the Mail to court, from a non existent orangery to saying their baby shower cost 300k (when it didn't!! Shock) is risible.

If they'd have had some really malicious lies said about them I would see their point. They need to get over themselves.

StoneofDestiny · 16/11/2019 18:08

Given that Meghan gets all kinds of shit thrown at her by her clearly hideous Markle relatives, it's pretty curious that I can't recall anybody on her equally hideous new Windsor family speaking up for her.

Like I say, I'm a Republican, but the grim deal this new family member gets while the insufferable Andrew is given the actual and symbolic 'front seat with the Queen' is shameful. It won't be Meghan that brings the Royal family to an end - it's the brothers of Charles and their partners and offspring - few of them missing a chance to make capital out of their privileged position.

On the contrary. Meghan defenders have never speculated about anything, it is only her haters that have. She and Harry have never even hinted at wanting 'adulation' - on the contrary! They seem to prefer a quiet, peaceful and private life. It is clear you are creating a fantasy narrative that has nothing to do with reality, and arguing on that platform, when what you are saying is simply bizarre.

"In my opinion they want adulation They want to be seen as saviours and want fame"

And your 'opinion' is based on..... your fantasy in your head? Evidence attests that they eschew the media and fame, and are not seeking adulation at all.

Bluerussian · 16/11/2019 18:31

When Andrew said he was being 'honourable', I think he meant 'loyal' and that would have been a far better word to use. If you genuinely like somebody it is difficult to believe the worst of them. Well, now he knows. As long as he tells the truth from what he remembers, I don't see how he can do much more.

Whoops!! I don’t think people spend time with ultra powerful billionaire pedophile sex traffickers because they genuinely enjoy their company.

Agree with this

MarziPam · 16/11/2019 19:07

'When Andrew said he was being 'honourable', I think he meant 'loyal' and that would have been a far better word to use.'

Yes it's a bizarre choice of word, as you say loyal would have been better or naive, foolish.

They just all think they're above scrutiny.

MarziPam · 16/11/2019 19:09

'Evidence attests that they eschew the media and fame, and are not seeking adulation at all.'

The media maybe, not the fame and privilege. Sadly for them they all come as a package.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 16/11/2019 19:17

HER NAME IS NOT MEGHAN MARKLE ANYMORE.

BertrandRussell · 16/11/2019 19:19

Isn t it? When she is not being the Duchess of Sussex, what is her name, then?

SunsetBoulevard3 · 16/11/2019 19:39

Meghan Winsor I guess. Or Meghan Sussex.

SunsetBoulevard3 · 16/11/2019 19:39

Windsor

MarziPam · 16/11/2019 19:41

'HER NAME IS NOT MEGHAN MARKLE ANYMORE.'

Must we refer to everyone by their full correct married names? It is a chat forum after all and not a court of law. Shall we include HRH too?

BennyTheBall · 16/11/2019 19:44

No-one is going to call her Meghan Sussex or Windsor - ditto Kate.

They're stuck with their maiden names as the full titles as identifiers is just silly and smacks of serfdom.

Bluerussian · 16/11/2019 19:58

Well we don't call Kate, Kate Middleton any more, she's the Duchess of Cambridge; Meghan is the Duchess of Sussex, not Markle any more (at the moment).

Puzzledandpissedoff · 16/11/2019 20:15

They just all think they're above scrutiny

And they're not far wrong. Does anyone seriously imagine there'll be any real consequences for Andrew's appalling lack of judgement? Or that mummy would fail to step in if the threat of one came too close?

Which in some ways makes it even more odd that he's doing the interview at all ...

BertrandRussell · 16/11/2019 20:25

How do we know she doesn’t call herself Meghan Markle when she’s not the DofS? I always assume that a woman hasn’t changed her name unless I know she has.
