I have to admit when I read about the death of Richard Huckle it was quite literally the best news I've heard for weeks. Im not usually a death penalty advocate but this genuinely feels like justice to me.

I’m glad the views on here are a little more balanced. I followed a link from the news to the comments section of a well known ‘newspaper’ and the comments were all along the lines of ‘let him (the murderer) out’ and ‘give that man a pardon and a knighthood’. For committing a murder. No one in their right mind would excuse what Richard Huckle did, or feel too sad if he had died by accident or his own hand. But surely you can’t celebrate a murder? And what if said murderer turned out to be Ian Huntley or Peter Sutcliffe? Would they still want them released and praised?

EmeraldShamrock · 14/10/2019 20:38

I hope the person who murdered him doesn’t get charged
I hope they bloody do, keep another nutter off the streets for longer.
I am sure the murderer isn't in for traffic offences.
Awful to mention Madeline McCann on this thread.

fizzfizzplinkplink · 14/10/2019 20:46

On the one hand I am very pleased my taxes are no longer going towards feeding and clothing this fiend, and his medical care.

But he would have died far too quickly, unfortunately.

museumum · 14/10/2019 20:47

I’m not reading up on him but there is NO good in society if prisoners can murder inside. It should not happen. If he can be murdered then so can officers and prisoners on remand and any other prisoner for any reason - including for trying to obey the rules.

BMW6 · 14/10/2019 20:54

I read this news and smiled to myself. I hope he died in terror and agony.

siring1 · 14/10/2019 21:22

Funny place MN.

Some theads get deleted for expressing unpopular opinions whilst other threads that celebrate and encourage murder stand.

TottieandMarchpane · 14/10/2019 21:24

I’m wondering about his mother and the people who loved him when he was a little boy and what they’re feeling.

Lllot5 · 14/10/2019 21:28

Good. If there’s a hell I hope he’s in it.

HermioneWeasley · 14/10/2019 21:28

Good riddance. He can’t hurt anyone again now

EarringsandLipstick · 14/10/2019 21:31

This is one of the most awful threads I've ever read

I cannot condone celebrating the taking if anyone's life, regardless of the evil they perpetrated. It doesn't in any way recompense their victims.

The fact that so many posters mention 'smiling' or wishing it was slow and painful, and he died in fear, is stomach-churningly awful.

And that so many of you can't see that prisoners being able to carry out vigilante-style 'justice' while incarcerated is an utter indictment of the prison system...

💐 to those posters who've experienced abuse / assault at the hands of criminals as described. I'm so sorry.

Yes - I agree fully & actually am just reporting thread now, for this reason.

JamieVardysHavingAParty · 14/10/2019 21:37

Agreed. I think we could do with a bit less lionising of the unknown inmate who killed Huckle. There's no reason to believe he's the virtuous second coming of Batman.

He could be a violent man who killed Huckle for reasons completely unrelated to Huckle's crimes. Or perhaps this man is a serial rapist of adults, and he wanted to make a point that he didn't rape children, in order to stop someone else killing him for his crimes.

I wouldn't want to release someone like John Warboys, would you?

LoveNote · 14/10/2019 21:41

the murderer and hangers on don't care about him being a paedophile.....they only care they got to justify being violent, taking out their own frustrations at being locked up,on him

why is anyone happy about that? a prison officer could just as easily have been killed

and yes, he was a baby and little boy once, there are people who will be mourning that

any of you with little boys? your own son could grow up to be a 'monster' like this......and theres nothing you can do to prevent that..nothing

Meshy23 He would have been free to reoffend in his late 40s early 50s

EarringsandLipstick · 14/10/2019 21:48

@rededucator

Imagine hoping this about anyone, regardless of how evil they are:

I hope his death was slow, painful and terrifying for him.

Awful.

StealthPolarBear · 14/10/2019 21:49

The question for me is why is someone who has raped and abused 200(?) children, some as young as six months and committed crimes so awful they couldn't be discussed in court ever up for parole? What has gone so wrong? What do you have to do to get life in prison these days?

LoveNote · 14/10/2019 21:49

was Damian Foukes ever moved from full sutton?

StealthPolarBear · 14/10/2019 21:50

I don't think its awful to wish on him a fraction of the pain and terror he put his victims through, no.

Missingsandraohingreys · 14/10/2019 21:50

It’s probably for the best . I don’t
Condone murder . But he was a bit of a stain of humanity and a lot of our taxpayers would have wasted . I don’t think that level of depravity can change . Ever

crazycadetmum · 14/10/2019 21:50

I feel more bothered by the fact he was murdered in a supposedly place! Shocking

LoveNote · 14/10/2019 21:51

he got 22 life sentences...no parole board would free him!

rededucator · 14/10/2019 21:51

Earrings I think someone who rapes 200 children and write a pedophile handbook with 'points' based on the depravity of the act deserves a slow, painful, terrifying death.
