To feel pleased to read about the death of a paedophile in prison.

I have to admit when I read about the death of Richard Huckle it was quite literally the best news I've heard for weeks. Im not usually a death penalty advocate but this genuinely feels like justice to me.

@SoreThroatToday has said what I would have said. There should be no cause to rejoice in an event which demonstrates the appalling state of our prisons.

Wereeaglesdare · 14/10/2019 18:48

I smiled momentarily then I felt sad for the victims when I saw this but I for one agree with the death penalty for proven pedophiles. We give protection to the wrong people. I'm glad he died a man who abused hundreds of children ranging from 6 months old. Giving himself pedo points. He could never have been rehabilitated so why award him more rights than we do our pensioners or the homeless ex soldier on the street. Why does he get comfort. Why the hell are we paying to feed these monsters and give them comfort. Money thrown down the drain. The amount of people who go on to abuse again. Just cut out the middle man.
It might seem barbaric and who are we to decide someone's fate. But when you rape a six month old infant. You don't deserve breath in my opinion let alone food and warmth and a telly and the rest. I can only hope there is a hell he is burning in right now.

Wereeaglesdare · 14/10/2019 18:51

I would also just like to say I really think there should be a service for people who are having feelings towards children that is a safe space where people can get help
But when you watch child abuse or touch someone you have crossed a morality line that there is just no coming back from.

YouJustDoYou · 14/10/2019 18:53

The world truly is sometimes a better place without some people existing in it.

OhWhatACarveUp · 14/10/2019 18:53

I can't think of any reason why anyone should feel anything but pleased that someone quite so sick has been removed from society on a permanent basis

Different moral values perhaps?

puppyconfetti · 14/10/2019 18:54

Do you genuinely think that people who have feeling towards children can be helped? Feelings? Towards children? Fucking hell.

How about we have safe spaces for our children not the people who want to hurt them.

puppyconfetti · 14/10/2019 18:55

Different moral values perhaps?

Yes. Indeed.

I don't value the life of someone like this. Not in the slightest.

YouJustDoYou · 14/10/2019 18:55

The abuse has already been committed so this murder achieves nothing

Our money will no longer be wasted paying for the scum's food, warmth, shelter, and entertainment whilst in prison. I would say that achieves something.

OhWhatACarveUp · 14/10/2019 18:56

You clearly do or else you wouldn’t be pleased

puppyconfetti · 14/10/2019 18:57

You clearly do or else you wouldn’t be pleased

I don't think that is the case at all.

Wereeaglesdare · 14/10/2019 18:59

@puppyconfetti

Just jump the gun why don't you try to read what I'm saying. I think I would prefer a service in order to help pedos before they offend to stop another child getting hurt one million per cent. Ever watch the pedo next door. It was a man saying he had urges and couldn't control the urges he deeply hates himself but there is not one service that can help before he offends. They only rehabilitate after
Is that not sick. A child has to be abused before that. I think anyone who hurts an innocent child deserves death, but let's have some preventative measures in place. If this man had been 16 say and had contacted a place where he could say I have these sick urges. All of them children would have been spared the agony of all the abuse done to them. Do you not get that?

ilovesooty · 14/10/2019 18:59

@Wereeaglesdare there is such a service.

I read what you say. You are sadly working on the idea that paedophiles can be helped.

Saucery · 14/10/2019 19:01

Any man can very much control his urges. Not a good idea to allow peadophiles a place to congregate and swap top tips.

FizzyIce · 14/10/2019 19:02

Really hope he suffered 👍🏻

MaybeitsMaybelline · 14/10/2019 19:03

I disagree with the poster that said monsters are made not born. I think some are born this way, it doesn’t help if they have a dreadful upbringing sure, but to be this sick i have to suspect there is something else going on in his head.

Or was.

I wont shed any tears. Although i fee pity for any normal, self respecting parents that have ended up with someone like this for a child.

Wereeaglesdare · 14/10/2019 19:03

I'm working on the idea that we should atleast try to stop it. Because we can only deal with the aftermath. I'm glad there is a service if it stops one child from getting hurt it's worth it's weight in gold.

StoneofDestiny · 14/10/2019 19:03

It is appalling.
So, some thugs or fellow sex offenders (either way, someone whose crimes were so bad they had to be imprisoned) appoints them self judge, jury and executioner) - how can that be worthy of praise.

Not to mention the fact that the prison officers have their lives put at risk by these thugs who can get hold of or make knives.

Nothing good about it.

The paedophile was in prison - that is good enough.

TellySavalashairbrush · 14/10/2019 19:06

YetAnotherSurvivor*

Very well put.

Skade · 14/10/2019 19:06

The only thing I was sorry about was that now no one will ever be able to get into the hard drives that he refused to disclose the passwords for, which may have helped to identify some of his victims and enable them to be helped. However, I suspect he probably revelled in the power of not disclosing the passwords, similar to Ian Brady, and would never have given them up.

Ketomeato · 14/10/2019 19:09

I was conflicted about it. My first thought was “good” but then checked myself with remembering that HE was someone’s son, and as a PP said, it demonstrates the appalling state of our prisons.

I do think it’s a shame he’s dead because, he could have released the passwords for the additional files on his computer, but he always refused. That would have led to more victims and possibly perpetrators being identified.

His diary is available on line, thankfully partially redacted. I wish I hadn’t seen it. It’s truly mind bending how matter of fact he is and how he had normalised this.

In my ideal world he would be locked up and studied forever, to prevent this ever happening again.

Ketomeato · 14/10/2019 19:10

Cross posted, Skade.

The only reason I could think of for refusing to hand them over, is he thought they would incriminate him further and blow any chances of parole.

IfIHadAPenny · 14/10/2019 19:11

@Wereeaglesdare are you aware that the man murdered (when caught) was about to publish a manual on how to best be a 'child lover'? And was actively crowdfunding on the dark web to share the 20,000 indecent and illegal material he had created?

You're naively thinking these poor predators wouldn't offend if they had help - ridiculous. They love what they do, they know it's wrong but they continue to abuse and rape children because they like it and they don't care who they hurt.

One of those monsters is dead - bloody brilliant! :)

Strawberrycreamsundae · 14/10/2019 19:11

This despicable individual got his kicks from raping children and babies as young as six months old.
I can't help thinking thank god he's not going to get anywhere near anyone again and yes, I am glad he's dead.
I personally think paedophiles should be physically or chemically castrated, it just might deter and thus save some poor innocent children from these predators.

popsadaisy · 14/10/2019 19:13

I'd actually never heard about him until today. I've just read a short article on what he was in prison for and all I can say is that I truly hope that is death was slow and painful. Good riddance to him, I hope he rots in hell for all eternity! Defo some good news for today Smile
