No, I think they can look lovely unless they are massive. It’s like anything, depends what you wear them with. They look v different with a lovely midi dress than a Tracksuit

Depends on the hoop and who is wearing it. Thin white gold / silver hoops on young girls/women can look really classy.

I think they are very fashionable these days and don't look tacky as long as you aren't teaming them with your Adidas Tracksuit and two-finger gold rings.

Small hoops - fine

Larger than 2" - tacky and cheap looking

I like to wear a hoop so big that a parrot can sit on the bottom of them

I love hoop earrings. Probably wouldn't go any bigger than about 5cm personally. I think they look great with a sleek ponytail and red lipstick. Long pencil skirt etc 😊

Well the hoop earrings the Duchess of Cambridge wears cost £5k. I don't think even wearing hoops she could be called tacky.

As said it depends on what they are worn with and to an extent how you look. Including your heritage/skin colour etc.

Lets face it, hoops were disapproved of because they were traditionally worn by ethnic minorities.

They don’t suit me, but I think that’s because they always look wonky / uneven as my piercings don’t seem entirely straight (doesn’t affect wearing studs!)

So as a result of that I’m a “no” to big hoops!

Small hoops are fine, it's the big ones that look tacky and it's nothing to do with ethnic minority and everything to do with what pps have said the image of the track suited, heavily made up, fake eye brows, tight pony tail, long fake nail look that was popular once.

IDK... Sat in the office area at DS' school yesterday and the local Reverand rocks in in her biker boots, purple hair and wrist sized hoop earrings along with the usual Reverand of a church attire. I kinda swooned a little

No! Big hoops are in now, and they look fab when styled well. Still remember getting my passport photo done at about 15 with hoop earrings and my mum turning her nose up and saying they looked cheap and I would have to look at it for 10 years. Which I did, and for 10 years they looked great and every time I used my passport I said a little "bore off mum" on my head So to you as well I say....bore off!
