I have been so impressed at the way she has handled the case re the prorguing of parliament in the supreme court. No tub thumping and posturing. No big ego, clear, firm and intelligent. Found out more about her. She has broken down many barriers and campaigned against sexism in the judiciary. She attended a state school in Yorkshire, got a first at Girton and has challenged the inbuilt bias in chosing judges. The DM hate her for "subverting family values". Love her silver spider broach (Oh, what a tangled web we weave, When first we practice to deceive).

She’s fabulous.

Her daughter is a friend of mine and I have met Lady Hale and you are not wrong. She's a remarkable woman and also terribly nice and down to earth too.

She has been awesome right from her academic days. The Inside the Supreme Court documentary is very interesting and you get to see her at home. I am LIVID she is being compulsorily retired soon.

I am also lusting after Lord Pannick QC. The way he added 68 to those page references on the hoof... swoon.

I was impressed watching this morning. Its great to know there are women like her, in the position she is, doing such a grand job.

Not to bring the mood down, but I am also thinking how many death and rape and beheading threats she’ll be getting now along with Ladies Arden and Black.

Agree, an excellent role model. Calm , polite, intelligent, commanding, and able to explain the judgement of ten other judges in lay mans terms so we all understood it.

I suspect we all want to be lady hale when we grow up.

She is a fantastic role model - calm, considered, clear, incredibly intelligent and commanding but without ego and pomp.

I had t really thought much about her until I watched her ruling this morning. She was fabulous, cool, collected, unflustered and explained something that could have been massively over complicated very clearly.

The lack of ego is refreshing.
