So much love, babe, hun and xxxx on here lately.

I'm getting viper withdrawal.

Am I imagining it?

Thanks in advance x

Netmums kind of died might be a contributing factor 😁

Celebelly · 31/08/2019 13:36

That must be the reason I've noticed more 'Mummyof2xoxoxo' posters too.

eddiemairswife · 31/08/2019 13:37

If so, the Goths, Visigoths and Vandals might also be on their way.

BendyLikeBeckham · 31/08/2019 13:37

Has it? Didn't know that. Makes sense.

I'm losing my people though!

Love the straight talking, slightly cynical, no nonsense vibe of MN.

Absolutely don't want the threads here to turn into some form of anonymous Facebook type feed. If I see 'just live your best life' here then I'm off!

Oh dear. With the Glasgow sectarian ruckus fresh in my mind, I thought this was about something quite different.

I saw a "hun" on a post a couple of minutes ago. I thought it must be a typo.

We have to woman the barricades right now and defend the vipers' nest.

thenightsky · 31/08/2019 13:41

Agree OP. 'Hun' goes unchallenged all the time these days. Sad

BendyLikeBeckham · 31/08/2019 13:42

I knew some people would pounce on the historical reference. You passed the test! Grin

See, this is how MN is fabulous. Wouldn't get Visigoths on NM!

Mummy of x makes me cringe.

Tojigornot · 31/08/2019 13:45

I’ve noticed a lot of posters sticking x at the end of everything they post. Drives me potty.

Theendofmyrope · 31/08/2019 13:45

Does it really matter. Its a forum with a huge number of people visiting each day each with their own way of posting. I never understand why people get so collectively pissy about it. Just smacks of snobbery IMO. I am sure it wont make any difference to the no nonsense, straight talkers bullying arseholes in some cases If anything it will give some of them even more reason to give people a pasting. I am sure you will stick around Hmm

Hoodiesallsummer · 31/08/2019 13:47

What’s happened to netmums?

fancytiles · 31/08/2019 13:47

I think it's being used as a term of endearment?

MsPavlichenko · 31/08/2019 13:47

MaxNormal Me too! Particularly as it's Old Firm match tomorrow.

kalinkafoxtrot45 · 31/08/2019 13:49

I’ve seen more crimes against punctuation lately. Sorry to be a pedant but it makes me wince. That and “ur” instead of “your”.

astralplaning · 31/08/2019 13:49

I just read a thread about how MN was getting so nasty that threads had to be deleted and one woman who was suffering an abusive relationship was more or less chased off her own thread. Also, that AIBU should cease to be a category because it was just a bear pit...

toomuchtooold · 31/08/2019 13:50

Me too! The whole country's erupted in anti-prorogation protests, meanwhile in Glasgow they're reenacting the Battle of the Boyne Grin

dancerdog · 31/08/2019 13:51

MaxNormal

Yep, I too thought we were on a different type of 'Huns.' Fingers crossed.

Letthemysterybe · 31/08/2019 13:53

I’m not a fan of hun/babes etc but I welcome a bit of diversity on here.

BrooklynNoiceNoice · 31/08/2019 13:53

I have noticed a massive change and stopped using mumsnet as much since netmums ‘went down’.

There’s been much victim blaming on threads where women are being abused and that’s the reason I stopped reading netmums. Usually MN is very helpful when it comes to bad relationships, it’s sad to see women being told their partners atrocious behaviour is fine. I don’t use MN as often anymore.

astralplaning · 31/08/2019 13:54

This is giving me an image I don't want! Blush

BogglesGoggles · 31/08/2019 13:55

We need to build a wall!

BendyLikeBeckham · 31/08/2019 13:55

I stopped reading an OP yesterday which was so full of 'ur' and other ancient Nokia textspeak contractions as it was unreadable.

I'm a pedant too Blush
