Currently on holiday with DP, 2 step daughters age 6&7 and our 15 month old. We only arrived yesterday afternoon and when the kids settled down DP went for a walk around (this is normal we do it every holiday)

This was about 11:45pm and it's now half 4 in the morning! His phone was dead before he left and I've been cat napping hoping I am hearing him in the corridor of the hotel but nothing!

The kids will be awake in a few hours and he would never / has never done this before! I'm so worried and want to ring the police.

Help? I'm thinking the worst and getting myself in a state of how I'm gonna tell the girls I don't know where Daddy is 😭

Glad all is well-ish.

ellesworth · 23/08/2019 09:30

No sauce - perhaps he couldn't remember her phone number, and if OP has been ringing reception with no reply then how was he meant to magically get an answer? Plus strong painkillers could have made him a bit loopy.

AtrociousCircumstance · 23/08/2019 09:31

Glad he’s safe but I bet this is yet another situation where you have to shoulder everything while he’s all helpless.

Hope he’s super helpful and productive in RL.

NoSauce · 23/08/2019 09:34

Hmm maybe ellesworth but somehow I doubt it. Sounds more like he’s gone off at 11.45 yesterday morning on a complete bender and ended up in hospital with a busted ankle. I mean what’s all that about? Going off as soon as you get there for a “walk” when you’ve just arrived on holiday?

mmmcflurrys · 23/08/2019 09:37

@NoSauce it was 11:45pm, he does it every holiday just to have a look around he can never settle straight away. I don't mind looking after the kids, I have the little one who doesn't let me relax anyway! 😆

I don't really feel angry at all tbh. Just glad he's not dead or selling his body!

So glad you have found him . I was so anxious for you.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

GirlDownUnder · 23/08/2019 09:42

He’ll get a funny tan line, but it’ll help him remember to charge his phone next time Smile

Glad he’s ok

NoSauce · 23/08/2019 09:42

Ok OP, just make sure you have a good holiday too.
Sorry I read it wrong, I thought he’d been out since yesterday lunchtime! Not as bad then. Take care.

DanielRicciardosSmile · 23/08/2019 09:56

DH also goes for a wander when we get somewhere, and wouldn't think it being 11.45pm was any reason not to do so. And he doesn't even know his own phone number, let alone anyone else's - I doubt many people memorise mobile numbers these days.

monkeysox · 23/08/2019 09:56

Glad he's OK

SlothMama · 23/08/2019 09:59

I'm glad he's okay, maybe you should invest in a battery pack to make sure iPhones with their shit batteries stay topped up!

MrsMozartMkII · 23/08/2019 09:59

Glad he's comparatively okay!

LakieLady · 23/08/2019 10:04

Thank goodness! You must be so relieved OP.

I often go out for a stroll last thing at night on holiday, I don't think it's such a strange thing to do. Mind you, we holiday in the UK and have the dog, so she comes too.

I did once get disorientated in the dark (rural, no street lights) and walk straight past the gate to our cottage though. That was mildly perturbing. I now take a few moments to identify some sort of landmark so I can find my way back.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 23/08/2019 10:07

Glad you found him, but he's done more than twist his ankle if he needs a boot on.

Tell the twit to charge his phone up next time he's goes wandering. He does sound like a liability...

mmmcflurrys · 23/08/2019 10:13

Liability is one word for him 👀😂

MemorylikeDory · 23/08/2019 10:25

I'm glad he's back OP. Enjoy the rest of your holiday.

AmIThough · 23/08/2019 10:27

I'm glad you're much more reasonable than most of MN Grin

I'm glad he's back and ok!

ThatCurlyGirl · 23/08/2019 10:42

Oh thank god, you poor thing what a stressful day and night. Can't imagine how relieved you must be! Really hope you both manage to enjoy the rest of your week Thanks

Apolloanddaphne · 23/08/2019 11:20

At least he won't be likely to wander off again!

mmmcflurrys · 23/08/2019 11:41

Enjoying the sun now with my little Ariel ❤️

Help !!
Zebraaa · 23/08/2019 11:52

Glad he’s home relatively safely.

All the people attacking him should be ashamed. You’ve made incorrect assumptions as usual.

wineandsunshine · 23/08/2019 12:26

Oh phew! Enjoy the rest of your holiday!

Whataliberty · 23/08/2019 12:49

Ahh!! Thank goodness everything is OK. I hope his ankle heals quickly and you all have a fantastic time xx
