AIBU to order Indian?

saaagp · 16/08/2019 15:21

I rarely eat takeaway but I'm really under the weather. I haven't eaten yet today and all I ate yesterday was 2 slices of beans on toast with cheese (around 6 pm). I'm really craving Indian food but DH (day off) says he really doesn't fancy off and would prefer sushi. AIBU to ignore him? Sushi on a cold stormy day does nothing for me.

can he buy his own sushi and you buy one of those curry ( take away style) from tesco's or something?

dollydaydream114 · 16/08/2019 15:23

You don’t both have to eat the same thing. Order separately.

CharlotteFlax · 16/08/2019 15:23

I say your illness trumps his desire for sushi, so YANBU to order what you want.

Generally nobody is unreasonable for wanting takeaway.

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/08/2019 15:23

Bollocks to sushi.

Saag Aloo and Naan bread. Very garlicky and salty. Sort you right out.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 16/08/2019 15:23

onion bajis, plain naan, chicken biriyani, and poppadoms for me pls

dalmatianmad · 16/08/2019 15:23

Why are you asking? Just order and eat what you fancy?
Your dh can eat sushi. We often eat separately if we don't want same thing. No biggie Hmm

Teddybear45 · 16/08/2019 15:23

Depends on the Indian food. Nothing’s better than Dal and rice when you’re ill. But if you’re craving butter chicken or something else heavy then it might help to wait until you get better.

HugsAreMyDrugs · 16/08/2019 15:23

Sushi is a weird choice for a day like this...

Go for Indian. It's more filling and certaunly more comforting than sushi anyway.

DeepfriedPizza · 16/08/2019 15:24

Order the indian

Frownette · 16/08/2019 15:24

Does he like indian? Is sushi his favourite?

I'd explain you've had problems eating and an Indian would really help. Sushi next time!

By jove, I think we've finally done it! We've reached peak banality, in this 'woman-has-to-ask-internet-what-to-have-for-dinner' shocker! 😂

HugsAreMyDrugs · 16/08/2019 15:24

*certainly.

Camomila · 16/08/2019 15:24

Ooh get lots of Indian!

Indian is the first thing I am getting after I have DC2 - I have hyperemisis and my diet is 90% boiled potato atm.

SleepingIsOverrated · 16/08/2019 15:25

Omgggggg now I want an Indian Grin feel better soon, op xx

MrsTerryPratchett · 16/08/2019 15:26

Fuck off to Quora then and ask deep questions and feel intelligent. Or does it make you feel superior to be surrounded by banal women?

saaagp · 16/08/2019 15:27

We don't tend to order from different places due to minimum order/delivery charges. We can afford to I guess but it seems like a waste. He is really adamant but I can't be bothered to fall out.

OP posts:
Soontobe60 · 16/08/2019 15:28

YABU in that you're asking permission off complete strangers as to whether you can order what you fancy not what your DH fancies.

Get a grip! Order what you want!

PumpkinPie2016 · 16/08/2019 15:28

YANBU - order your Indian and enjoy!

DH could order sushi from just eat or similar?

Or he can raid the cupboards/fridge.

I could eat Indian now - can't though as defrosted salmon for tea Sad

ShirleyPhallus · 16/08/2019 15:28

To be fair, 90% of questions on MN could be answered with google. Just the nature of a chat forum.

Hold your ground OP

saaagp · 16/08/2019 15:30

I'm asking if it's unreasonable to just ignore my (mostly) nice husband's request. He finds our local Indian "too lemony". He's asked we have anything else but I've got a craving now.

OP posts:
MrsTerryPratchett · 16/08/2019 15:30

If he's adamant and you're adamant, don't fall out, be a rebel and pay the extra delivery charge.

saaagp · 16/08/2019 15:31

Also, I'm finally at my goal weight so think I deserve to reward myself. DH is being a bit childish!

OP posts:
saaagp · 16/08/2019 15:36

So I've told him I'm sorry but this what I need. Has not gone down well at all.

OP posts:
Frownette · 16/08/2019 15:37

You'll both feel better after you've eaten.

Lemony?!
