AIBU to order Indian?

I rarely eat takeaway but I'm really under the weather. I haven't eaten yet today and all I ate yesterday was 2 slices of beans on toast with cheese (around 6 pm). I'm really craving Indian food but DH (day off) says he really doesn't fancy off and would prefer sushi. AIBU to ignore him? Sushi on a cold stormy day does nothing for me.

I really want a curry now.
Butter chicken, mushroom rice and a garlic naan for me please.
But I'll pass on the sushi.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 16/08/2019 16:01

now I WANT INDIAN FOOD.

SO DO I !!!!!

Ponoka7 · 16/08/2019 16:09

@22Giraffes, not when he was trying to dictate that the OP couldn't order from there because he didn't want anything.

MatildaWormwood8 · 16/08/2019 16:12

YANBU. I would never say no to an Indian Grin

Haworthia · 16/08/2019 16:18

Bit harsh to call him a controlling prick because he fancies something different to what op does

I called him a controlling prick because clearly the OP, a grown woman with no financial constraints, seemed nervous about “defying” her husband and asked MN for permission to ignore him.

“ He is really adamant but I can't be bothered to fall out”
“So I've told him I'm sorry but this what I need. Has not gone down well at all.”

Sounds controlling to me @22Giraffes. The kind of man who gets what he wants by making his wife so afraid of his sulks she usually lets him get his own way.

22Giraffes · 16/08/2019 16:18

@Ponoka7 I've read back through the thread and can't see the post where op has said her dh is dictating what they order. He has complained/grumbled/whined or whatever that he doesn't want Indian but at no point seems to have stopped op from ordering. People can have a difference of opinion without one being labelled controlling!

22Giraffes · 16/08/2019 16:23

@Haworthia has op really actually come on here to ask permission?? Or just to have a bit of a moan and express her annoyance as loads of posters do. Dp and I bicker often over petty things but I'd never post about it because I'd be most likely told to ltb in 10 seconds flat as per MN bingo!

Funguy · 16/08/2019 16:28

Gosh how interesting Hmm

TatianaLarina · 16/08/2019 16:35

Too late but was going to say most sushi places do hot food too.

midsomermurderess · 16/08/2019 16:49

So now for some, expressing a preference is controlling.

BlokeHereInPeace · 16/08/2019 16:51

Chicken jalfrezi, aloo gobi, pilau rice, naan, onion bhaji. Having what's left for breakfast.

newtb · 16/08/2019 17:01

Re the lemony, it's the way to make a curry a madras one ie add the juice of half a lemon to get the flavour.

saaagp · 16/08/2019 17:04

Could only manage about 4 mouthfuls Sad. There is a mountain of food left.

Does your sushi place do Katsu? That’s pretty much just Japanese curry.

AlexaAmbidextra · 16/08/2019 17:05

I hope OP that if he decides your Indian smells delicious next to his sushi, that you slap his hand away hard when it strays towards your plate. Which it will I can guarantee.

msmith501 · 16/08/2019 17:06

Both get Chinese and meet in the middle.... I'm guessing this thread is meant to be light hearted? In the time it took the OP is post it, I'd have ordered and warmed the plates...

BettysLeftTentacle · 16/08/2019 17:06

Second day curry is the best OP. If I was you I’d be reaaaally looking forward to lunch tomorrow Wink

DarlingNikita · 16/08/2019 17:10

It'll be even better as leftovers.

ReapersHowler · 16/08/2019 17:16

@22Giraffes Is she not controlling then for deciding what she wants trumps his wants? Then not even being able to eat it and wasting money?

Parky04 · 16/08/2019 17:26

Fuck Sushi Indian all day long. Having one myself tonight!

AmIThough · 16/08/2019 17:26

@saaagp even better -it'll keep you going for a while!

Hiphopopotamus · 16/08/2019 17:43

Right - I’ll have... a Chicken Bhuna, Lamb Bhuna, Prawn Bhuna, mushroom rice, a bag of chips, keema naan, and nine poppadoms.

And if anyone dares to even think about my bhunas Angry

Oblomov19 · 16/08/2019 17:50

I can't back from our caravan week last night. I ordered Dh and Ds2 a chicken kebab. I had Indian from the place opposite. Chicken passandra extra spicy, with paneer Tikka was Delish.

What's the problem OP?

Frownette · 16/08/2019 17:52

@saaagp come back to it a little bit later.

Did DP eat any in the end?

22Giraffes · 16/08/2019 17:54

@ReapersHowler I don't have any reason to think that either op or her dh are controlling🤷‍♀️
