thank you filly!!! can feel all my hackles rising at that!!

FlameFlamingo · 04/08/2007 10:55

Argh at the brave postie!

peanutbear · 04/08/2007 10:58

I dont mean to start a fight but if your postie is still delivering to you and you say the presents were posted in time why did you not recieve them? if they were there to be delivered surely he would have bought them

lillaura123 · 04/08/2007 11:00

get this guys - im not trying to convinvce any of you that is right or wrong - all i am saying is in my opinion i do not agree as u said "believe it or not. There are thousands of families livlihoods at stake" so thats my view - sorry if you dont like it - but thats life - it would be a pretty boring place if we all agreed wouldnt it?

OP posts:
lillaura123 · 04/08/2007 11:01

OP posts:
lillaura123 · 04/08/2007 11:04

oh and in our area postman is on a bike so doesnt to packages they come seperate

OP posts:
peanutbear · 04/08/2007 11:04

they are only on strike occasionally not all the time every day

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 04/08/2007 11:05

well i think that's very telling.

You have never had to work and negotiate your pay and conditions therefore you have no idea how hard it is.

if you had some experience of the workplace then you wouldn't be so quick to condemn those who are doing their best for the good of many.

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 04/08/2007 11:06

they are doing day long strikes not continuous striking.

you don't even know the facts!!!!

lillaura123 · 04/08/2007 11:06

no petition numbers not gone up - but what they hey - and its not my petition "read the thread "

OP posts:
Saturn74 · 04/08/2007 11:08

I didn't say the petition was yours.

But sadly the myriad of tedious threads are down to you.

I am, however, relieved to see that no-one has felt the urge to sign the pathetic petition.

lillaura123 · 04/08/2007 11:09

didnt say id never worked - or never had to negotiate pay !!! and as for not knowing facts if you had read the thread further back u would se that part of the reason i have started this discussion was to hear what people had to say - you learn by being told - you would also see that i said that i feel it hasnt been spoken about enough and mayve media are partly to blame about this?

the reason i dont agree is neither here nor there on how much i know - im intitled to a view whether i know the facts or not

OP posts:
Saturn74 · 04/08/2007 11:11

"part of the reason i have started this discussion was to hear what people had to say - you learn by being told"

That would not appear to be the case in this particular instance.

Aitch · 04/08/2007 11:15

so what have you learned?

peanutbear · 04/08/2007 11:18

I would say that its impossible to form a view with out knowing some facts

eg you believed the strike was all the time not one day a week and that your postie was not striking

you think its all about pay which from the comments below its not

I dont know that much about the whys and wherefores either I also dont know how much they get paid hene I dont make a comment

what you do know about is the way the strike has affected you so comment on that

chonky · 04/08/2007 11:26

lillaura - do you read the Daily Mail per chance ?

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 04/08/2007 11:41

"didnt say id never worked - or never had to negotiate pay !!! ""

and yet a couple of posts earlier i asked
" lililaura-have you ever worked or been a member of a union? "

to which you replied
" filch answer is no i havnt - im 22 with three kids when would i have done that???? "

you are contradicting yourself!!!!!!
and you didn't start this thread to educate yourself about the issues, you started this thread to get people to sign your friends hateful petition.

i quote-
"since we have started signing she has suffered from horrible comments from posties etc - come on girls please help and sign up xx "

lulumama · 04/08/2007 11:42

have just read the petition

words actually fail me

"Royal Mail keep going on strike and there are important letters that need to be delivered but are not as they are on strike to often and it has to stop or get rid of royal mail and get a new company to take over.

Your friend things the PM is going to be interested in this?

crikey, i don;t wish to sound harsh, but your friend needs to wise up sharpish !

as if it is as simple as get rid of royal mail...

i am all for freedom of speech and the ability to petition the PM for things that affect the country , but this is an absolute waste of time, not even a reasoned argument

councils and other official bodies will take the strike into account, 2 year olds don;t know that they have not got their presents on time, sorry, but what a facile and ridicolous petition

lulumama · 04/08/2007 11:42

words didn;t fail me, actually !

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 04/08/2007 11:44

lulu-i hate it when my brain works like this but i having to cross my fingers to stop myself from typing..

" grow up"

ooops -did it!

filchthemildmanneredjanitor · 04/08/2007 11:44

not aimed at you of course!!!
