Following on from a thread where OP doesn't like wind turbines.

For me I can't stand walking past high buildings. I get so dizzy and frightened!

Almost passed out once as a child walking past Blackpool Tower..

Moths. They scare the shit out of me

jonesyyy · 13/07/2019 23:59

@BellyAching19 I hate them too!

Cream that you put on your skin. I have a spot of excema flare up at the mo and would rather suffer than put cream on it Grin

EdHelpPls · 14/07/2019 00:00

Sharks in swimming pools. Even as an adult I still feel shaky if I have to swim over a grate. I know it’s stupid.

jonesyyy · 14/07/2019 00:00

@CockapooMum Must admit I haven't heard that one before Grin

jonesyyy · 14/07/2019 00:03

Forgot to mention I am also terrified of mushrooms. Can't look at one and I definitely can't eat them!

Strongecoffeeismydrug · 14/07/2019 00:04

Eyeballs!
I can't stand people even touching there own eyes to apply make up.
When my child needed eye drops I took her to my mums three times a day

jonesyyy · 14/07/2019 00:05

@Strongecoffeeismydrug My DP is the same. He squirms when I have to put in/take out my contact lenses Grin

OP posts:
CockapooMum · 14/07/2019 00:05

I blame my mum chasing a 5 yr old me round the house saying 'cream on your bum!' Scarred me for life Grin

jonesyyy · 14/07/2019 00:06

@CockapooMum Wait so are you saying you don't moisturise? 😯

OP posts:
Demogorgmum · 14/07/2019 00:08

Wrist veins, cannot look at them and definitely won't touch them. Freaks me out.

Tillygetsit · 14/07/2019 00:09

@EdHelpPls OMG that's my recurring nightmare! I dive off a very high diving board and there's a shark at the bottom of the pool.

CockapooMum · 14/07/2019 00:10

Nope I just cant moisturise as would require putting cream onto my skin and that's not happening. I use soap and water and am fortunate not to have dry skin thankfully

PerfectionistProcrastinator · 14/07/2019 00:12

Not a phobia but something that makes me shudder...man made things under water.

And empty swimming pools.

DeadDoorpost · 14/07/2019 00:13

@EdHelpPls not only do I also have that phobia, but it continues to having a bath. I know sharks don't fit up the pipes, and that they're saltwater fish, but still... major heart palpitations whenever I have one. I'm fine if the water is clear. As soon as it gets murky.... shudders

Also have a phobia of rubber ducks but only when they're in water.

jonesyyy · 14/07/2019 00:13

@PerfectionistProcrastinator So like submarines for example?

OP posts:
Chescascurious · 14/07/2019 00:13

Omg, I have so many VERY specific phobias, bear in mind nothing has ever happened to me involving these things!

  1. Moths (and bugs in general) going in my ears (mainly while I'm asleep)
  2. Open/large/deep bodies of water
  3. Peacocks (but only in person)
  4. Hedgehogs
  5. Sloths

These are the only ones I can think of right now, but there's probably more, I'm a very nervous person 😂

Wormentrude · 14/07/2019 00:14

Mirrors in the dark. I'm always worried I'll look into one and see something in there that I know isn't there in real life.

sodonesooverit · 14/07/2019 00:14

Moths. Slugs.

I once had a freak out trying to put an earring in for a friend

Walking over bridges

mexicantaco · 14/07/2019 00:14

@Demogorgmum ditto with the veins, I find them revolting.

Birds/ insects flying near me is a big phobia of mine.

recklessruby · 14/07/2019 00:14

Flies. I hate their buzzing near me. They make me feel sick thinking what they have been walking on.
Wool. I can't touch anything that does the squeaky noise against teeth.
I have taken clothes into the changing room to discreetly see if they "squeak" (shudders) before buying. Blush
Only my dd knows this. She s the same.

zzzap · 14/07/2019 00:15

Not a phobia as such but I hate being too far in the sea if I'm ever on holiday. I can't see what's under my feet, can't see what the heck is swimming there and god forbid a stray seaweed (aka obviously shark or some other creature ) brushes against my leg.
Freaks me the freak out!

OwlBeThere · 14/07/2019 00:15

Buttons. They repulse me so much. Clear ones are especially bad. People think it’s funny, but it’s really not to me

PerfectionistProcrastinator · 14/07/2019 00:16

No, more like random things like a bike tyre or something. Or pipes, gah!! The idea of swimming near the underside of a boat 😱

zzzap · 14/07/2019 00:16

Oh and ditto moths!
