Following on from a thread where OP doesn't like wind turbines.

For me I can't stand walking past high buildings. I get so dizzy and frightened!

Almost passed out once as a child walking past Blackpool Tower..

Bats absolutely terrify me. The sound of their wings flapping make me feel sick.

Birds also ugh

@keepthemcoming I love leek and potato soup! Shock

Pruny skin, on me or anyone else. I can't look at it or touch it without dry heaving.

Spiral and backless staircases, spiral because I can't see the top or bottom and backless because they might collapse and trap me between them.

Bananas also, the smell, the taste, the shape, all aspects of bananas make me nauseous.

Katiet123 · 14/07/2019 11:48

Chickens. Utterly terrifying. The dinosaur feet don't help. People are always surprised when I say I don't eat chicken. "But its delicious!" Yeah but they should be extinct like the other dinosaurs.

ChristmasFluff · 14/07/2019 12:53

Corduroy. I hate even the thought of touching it.

I can sort of cope if I see someone is wearing it (thankfully not very fashionable at the moment), and I can be ready for it to potentially touch me. But if I'm leafing through clothes rails and accidentally touch it - YEEEEUUUURRCCCCCHHHHH! I'm going all prickly just thinking about it.

DoneLikeAKipper · 14/07/2019 12:58

Bare feet, especially toes. I can barely even say the word toes, makes me feel physically sick. Everyone has to wear socks in our house, no nasty piggies out around me! I hate this time of year when everyone is wearing flip flops, sliders and Birkenstock’s Envy (not envy, obvs).

RedRiverHog · 14/07/2019 13:11

Apes. Especially chimpanzees.

Mrsjayy · 14/07/2019 13:13

I struggle with feet too summer is awful so many bare toes Envy those barefoot sandals are the worst!

Mrsjayy · 14/07/2019 13:15

Why is mumsnet adding links ?

ooooohbetty · 14/07/2019 14:38

@Strongecoffeeismydrug I'm the same. I feel queasy even thinking about them. You should see the state I get myself in at the opticians. I wish they'd offer sedation.

RedSheep73 · 14/07/2019 14:45

Mayonnaise. Smells like vomit and always hiding in sandwiches.
Heights, but that's not weird is it.
Telephones, hate calling or answering.

jonesyyy · 14/07/2019 15:01

@RedSheep73 I was the same about telephones for years, I had terrible anxiety Sad thankfully that's under control now though!

Satellite maps - the sort of pictures you get in an atlas. I think it’s the lurid colours they use or something (the sort of colours on certain insects too). I also get freaked out by the zooming function on google earth.

ghostyslovesheets · 14/07/2019 15:18

Metal in water - large metal things such as chains, oil rigs etc - OMG just typing that made me shudder

Yachiru · 14/07/2019 15:21

Un-varnished/glazed pottery. Terracotta is absolute nightmare fuel

junecat · 14/07/2019 15:25

Tortoises, jacket potatoes and boiled eggs

jonesyyy · 14/07/2019 15:31

@ghostyslovesheets what is it about it that you don't like?

OP posts:
BuzzShitbagBobbly · 14/07/2019 15:37

Skin conditions. Things like hives freak the shit out of me and they make me feel ill.

Unfortunately for me I suffered from them a few years ago (and live in fear of it returning). It was a dark time.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 14/07/2019 15:45

Makemeaname "Also have a very specific fear of bridges"

Me too. I can be sitting in my car completely stationary on one and I will have a fear that it will spontaneously throw itself over the edge.

I get very nervous around bridges and have to cross them quickly Sad

But I am perfectly fine in tall buildings or planes etc.

Toastie7 · 14/07/2019 15:49

Cheery145 I'm glad someone else said balloons, I feel the same, I think my phobia is actually bangs, but especially balloons as you never know when they will pop.

YouJustDoYou · 14/07/2019 15:50

Trypophobia. I can't even look at holes in things.

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 14/07/2019 15:52

I have Trypophobia too - it's hardly a strange phobia though?

JuniperSling · 14/07/2019 16:37
  1. Moths and butterflies (seems to be quite a common one!)
  2. Sick
  3. Snot (especially snotty nosed kids).
Sussexbonfireviking · 14/07/2019 16:47

Completely outing..... .

Jenga!

Gives me the heebie heebies

Colourfulest · 14/07/2019 17:39

I am absolutely petrified of birds! And then from there I've developed a phobia of anything else that has eyes on the side of it's head. Soo fish and reptiles are all a big no no. Though saying that, I'm okay with sharks, whales, dolphins, owls... That's probably it.
